  1. Hey mine did the same thing on thursday the 28. I had the battery off cuz i was working on the engine (misfire of cylinder 4) and when I plugged my battery back my deck wouldn't turn on. Mines a 700bt. I just get a black screen. No pioneer splash screen. And like urs the lights turn on and the fan kicks in. So it looks like it's on... but the screen is just black.... havn't found a fix tho...sadly... ;( I tried doing a hard reset... but all it does is the lights on the unit pulsate... and then within 30sec the light turn off of the unit.

I believe it has to do with the booting... I believe it may have fried to the point that it cant read the internal memory to boot into anything but bios... I am taking apart mine now to see if i can find where the internal memory is stored.

  2. Can you get into test mode? If so, follow these steps to copy the files from FlashDisk over from the torrent download link above. Let me know how it works out, hope it helps!

    Unfortunately no.

The unit will not turn on the screen unless in diagnostic mode and freezes when trying to write the wince image. And if trying to start normally or boot into testmode off the SD it will again display the lights on for ten seconds or so (no screen activity. not even splash). then lights turn back off and the fan continues to run in the back. :(

    but thanks for the attempt

  3. Ah. Thanks Warhawk. I am at work and cant see the dissasembly photos here but i will check when i get home. I was just thinking about taking it apart and seeing what i can find there for where the internal memory is stored. I hope its not on a onboard chip... but if it is not much i can do about it. And i checked the link for that pac parts and nothing interior to the unit for the avicf90bt but thanks for the link.

But i will look into the dissasembly photos when I get home and as always thanks again

  4. So Im at a complete loss.... Just about to give up on this thing.... I have tried to see if mayb my wince img is corrupt mayb. Anyone know where to find an original f900bt US wince img would be.... I have tried the one from the pioneer 2.08 update from there website and the one from the 3.1 fx update...

I had similar issues trying to reimage WinCE. I found that putting only the winceimg.bin and the winceimg.cks in the root directory of the card allowed me to reimage the wince files. So delete all the other directories or folders on the card. Once you get the wince to read and write you can add the testmode folder and or the update files. I should point out that I am still having issues and am not an expert but was able to get the wince update done using this method.

Thanks for the response but this is what i have been trying. just the two files mentioned are on the two cards that i have been trying and the same ones i used when originally doing the upgrade to 3.0. Just always getting stuck on the read 100% screen. so annoying. Im going to try to find yet another sd card of some sort and see if it will help. I really doubt it as these are the two that i had no problem with before....

So I just tried a 3rd memory card and same issue.... Can read but gets no further

  6. I have tried the winCE files from the 3.1 download and also the wince images from when i did the 2.08 to 3.0 update and both freeze on me. I have tried 2 different sd cards and have reformatted them both with a full format not just a quick and tried again. These are the same 2 cards i originally did the update with also. But it gets to read 100% then freezes when i do the update wince with update. I can get it to go to read 100% then write 5% and then freeze when going to update wince without format...

Thanks for the response and any other ideas

  7. I apologize if this has been covered. I have read through the 57 pages here and the 28 pages on the 3.1 fx update also but may have over looked something.

My f900BT US is just reached about a year and half old and stopped working on me. It was factory shipped 2.06 firmware and I did the legit 2.08 update from pioneer website. Back in march/april of 2010 I updated to the 3.0 update from files from here. Then I updated to 3.01 legit update from the pioneer website again. I have had no problems with any of those updates and all went flawlessly with no issues. I have done no other modifications and have had no issues untill about a week ago the unit would turn on for about 10 Seconds with all the lights being white then shut back down. The fan continues to run but nothing ever displays on the screen. No splash screen.

I drove to work with it working. Parked and then went on lunch was having this issue.

I have looked into reflashing the wince as I can get into the diagnostic mode but it get stuck at reading file. I have looked through here and some say to reformat the sd card. I have tried two SD cards and reformatted them both to the fat32 with default cluster size and did a full format not a quick format. The screen just always stucks at read progress 100%. I have tried a few times on the unit to do the update wince from SD with no format and it seems to read and then will actually write 5% then freeze.

I have tried the wince files from the original flash files i used when upgrading from 2.08 to 3.0 as well as the wince files from the 3.1fx update file. I am now at a lost as what to try next.

Again sorry if this has been covered but I see that some of this issues were made known but I could not see the actual fix for them.

    Thanks in advance

  8. I have had my Avic F900BT for about 2 years now. I got it when it first came out and have done the updates to the 3.0 download from a member here and then official update from the 3.0 to 3.1 or whatever the version was. I did this update back in about March so at least 5 months ago. I never have had a problem with it except a few places I believe the GPS would cause a reboot as one road the same spot would cause a reboot. But no other problems to note.

I drove to work yesterday with no issue and parked. When I went to lunch the unit will not boot up anymore. It will display the lights on the buttons for about 5 seconds and nothing on the screen then shut back off. I checked the 12v, acc, and ground wires and all read as normal as they should. 12 is constant and ground reads ground , and acc is 12 v in acc position.... Also checked the fuse in the back of the radio and it is good. Even replaced it just for good measure...

Has anyone else had a similar issue and fixed it.

    Thanks,

    Josh

  9. I am also having the same problem. I went to work with it working fine. Then when i went to lunch it would not boot. Just the white lights come on for about 5 sec then shut off. I pulled it out and confirmed the ground, power, and ACC or still working properly and the fuse in the back of the radio is not blown. I don't know what to do with it either but is out of warranty now and have no clue why it's behaving this way

  10. dianebrat - have you even looked at the CD-RM10? It has the RCA jacks... http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-CD-RM10-C ... B000NPFV06

Yes I have, and it's NOT going to work right!

The way the inputs work for the ipod and USB functionality you need to use AV1 which is in the rear, if you use the front with the RM10, then you won't get the USB control off the head unit since when you want to listen you're on AV2, but the controls are over on AV1.

You're making this way harder then it has to be, read the install sheet, do it correctly, and you'll be glad you did, the combo you want to use is a hack and won't work right.

DianeBrat is absolutely 100% correct. if you put the stereo into ipod mode it recieves audio/video through av1. There is no way to get input from av2 while in ipod mode

  11. I have actually done this feat before. The way i did it was to just use a relay with a toggle switch. have the relay be activated with the toggle switch. when the toggle switch is not activated have it provide power to rear camera. When you flip the switch have the relay provide the power to the front camera. would just also need a rca 2 to one adapter.

  12. the 700 and 900 that i have dealt with have came with a small black plastic trim but not the full trim that comes with that cage. not sure about the 90 but even the balck plastic one that comes with the 700 and 900 is garbage just like the one that comes with the old d3. The trim is a little too big and puts a gap between the trim and the stereo. had to custom a piece of ABS to fill the gap.

  13. It should be in the dash behind the head unit.

Ya the F series has two harnesses in the back. Hopefully whoever did the install actually put both in. The second harness is only really needed if you have am amplifier. Since you have a 700 its posible they did not do a hardwire bypass of the parking brake as this is the secondary purpose of this harness. The second harness could have been left out to leave extra room and make the install cleaner. Also I dont know the process to take apart this dash either. google it and you can prob find dissasembly instructions. The second harness will have RCA jacks that are about 8" long for sub, backup cam, av1 in(r/w/y), av out(r/w/y), and a mute wire. Again this harness may or may not have been isntalled. Good Luck

  14. you probably have installed by now but hooking up the illumination wire to the red(accesory) wire will keep all the lights on as mentioned wbut will also keep the unit in a state of night mode 24/7. The biggest issue with this is that it will dim the screen all the time. In some areas such as phoenix where it is very bright.... this makes the screen impossibly hard to see during the day. if you have a DMM(digital multi meter) test the dimmer + wire to verify that it sits at ground with lights off and goes to 12V when parking lights are on. This should be the wire you will want to hook the illumination wire up to...not the red wire. :D
