  1. i have small keyboard when writing destination adress.

    help me :(

    Can you provide more details? I have never seen a small keyboard so I am not sure what you are referring to. If possible you might want to take a picture and upload it so I can see what you are talking about.

    I saw this problem in another thread before and I think it had something to do with the language files. The person only had the problem when they used the Polish language.

  2. As far as the zoom in and out... why not just push the wheel up or down?

    I just find the on screen buttons a little easier to work with. Personal preference. No big deal. Maybe someday I will get to it.

    The Navi button location does not bother me at all, but in the Stan/Andr2000 mod they shorten and faded the end of the street bitmap so there is no overlap.

    Attached is an rar file containing 30 pics of this mod and several explanations of what many of the buttons do, so that those unfamiliar with this can learn easily. Most of the pics are from the emulator but their are a few from my AVIC F7010BT. I hope many enjoy this.

  3. I have added this to my dev build but forgot to add it to this release before packaging. If you want a navi button use this code and it will add it directly below the map scale button:

    Add this to the browsemap_800_480.ui file in the planmodecontrols2D section:

    [/b]

    Thanks for the info on the NAVI button coding. I put my NAVI button in the same position as the Stan/Adnr2000 mod (see new pic). I did not change the Street indicator that goes across the bottom of the screen but since the button is semi transparent it does not matter. I also put the code at the bottom of the section the same as in the Stan/Andr2000 mod. Thanks again and thanks to Stanislavovich and Andr2000 for their work too.

    Here is the code I used in case someone else wants to do this:

    ; Navi button on the bottom right of the screen

    While looking at the code I noticed that there are zoom in (plus button) and zoom out (minus button) controls that are commented out. I would love to put these on the screen but did not yet because I would want buttons that match all the others. I don't know how to use PhotoShop enough to make ones myself yet (I need to learn). If I do get matching buttons I would move the existing zoom control button download and have those two buttons above it.

    Hope it's clearer to you now.

    Perfectly clear and very easy. Thanks once again.

    Now I just have to find something I like for my startup, or make my own. I was thinking of putting a reminder to get my cell phone because I am not a big talker so I sometimes forget it, but I do need it for my business.

    Well I tried this but for some reason it did not work for me. I did not get any startup (welcome) sound.

    I opened my data.zip file (I am using Diaftia's v2.1 mod). I then went into ui_pioneer\common\ui and open the START.UI file. I went to the section and added the code like below:

    I also made a welcome.ogg file and put that in the data.zip audio folder as you can see by the attached picture. I tested with the 100kph speedcam warning file making a copy of it then renaming it to welcome.ogg and that did not work either.

  5. December 15 update from Andr2000 (Firmware 3.x)

    + Added button to return to Navigation screen from Route Planning screen

    + Integration with Avic_Net

    What file is the Navi button for the Route Planning screen in and where in the file? I am not familiar with the coding yet and would like to take a look to see what was done to try and learn how to do some of this and maybe add it to Diaftia's mod. That is a great addition.

    Update 12/20/2009:

    Never mind, Diaftia already posted the info. Thanks for the great work.

  6. A little over 50 downloads in 12 hours and nobody is reporting problems. Is this a good sign or a bad sign? I can't tell. ;)

    A lot of testing went into this one so thanks to all the beta testers who helped make the release smooth. :)

    I loaded it today while i was waiting for some callbacks from customers. I can say that NO errors were noticed. The time TO and ARRIVAL on the left side could be a little bigger on the Nav screen. Maybe I was just used to Dpdursts mod with the bigger text. Other than that...nice!! Thanks again for you time and efforts.

    Mark

    I agree that the text could be a little bigger for my liking and my old eyes but this is a great mod all the same. I realize that screen real estate is precious.

    I loaded this on my 7010BT today (No MSN version) and it has been working great, no errors yet. I did mod the off screen time and date colors and position to my liking but other than that I have not changed anything.

    I love the red line through the speaker when nav voice is muted.

    I prefer the old background on the Cruise Dial, the gray is a bit bland. I also think the GPS Time and Distance Left should be swapped so that all time indicators are on the same side of the Cruise Dial. It would also be nice to have a mute button on the Cruise Dial, maybe just below the compass. I could change the background on the Cruise Dial myself if you tell me what I need to do for that. I don't know the coding yet so I can't do the mute button.

    The add via link for POIs is a great addition, as is the saved search.

    I did not get what you where referring to for the New Menu button that looks a little smaller, at least I did not notice anything.

    I have not used the Trip Computer before but I tried it out and it worked perfectly fo me every time, and I tried several times, but what are the 1,2,3 buttons for on that screen? Also you said the "Trip Computer has quick links to some of the custom screen." Did you mean that some of the custom screen are linking to it or are there supposed to be some links on the Trip Computer screen because I did not see any.

    I did not test the new signpost setting yet because I did not do any freeway driving today.

    In my opinion this is definitely the best mod I have tried so far. A few more tweaks and this will be virtually perfect.

    I would love to see you add a NAVI button to the Route Plan screen to make it just a click away to go back to Navi mode (yes I know I can hit the map button). This has been done on the Stan/Andr2000 mod like the attached picture shows. I haven't a clue where that coding is to try it myself, but I would like to learn.

  7. Quick question.. If i want the Sky in the 3D view in the instruction it says to remove the semicolon in the [maps]. I went in the system.txt but I didn't see any semicolons except for the title [maps] so do i take the title semicolons out or was this download already updated to show the sky in 3d mode? Thanks guys..

    I need to update the thread but keep forgetting to. If you want sky just turn off smartzoom and adjust the map position with the map controls after you touch the map screen once.

    I also found that if you zoom in close then you have a little better control of how much sky you want to see. Once you have the sky set the way you want you can zoom back out to whatever you like and it should retain the sky at whatever you set it.

  8. As for the signposts... just grab the signpost files from another mod. N-S-E-W added some transparency to the images I am using and you should just be able to replace the images if you don't want it.

    Alex

    vansmack2 - The bmp for signposts on page 4 does not have any transparency. Extract it from the zip and paste it in your common folder. Don't use the laneinfo_signpost.ini unless you want blue sign posts.

    I got it and will give it a try. Thanks.

  10.

    ;Time on blank screen

    Btw I figured out that if you want to change the date format from MM/DD/YYYY to YYYY-MM-DD then you can change the formatmodel in the date format to formatmodel="local.long_dateformat"

    I tried the "local.long_dateformat" and got a date like you stated but that still does not give me the day of the week like I wanted. I experimented with that setting to see if I could change anything there. It seems if it does not like the setting (invalid setting) then it just displays the default ISO standard time format.

    I got the re-uploaded NoMSN file and extracted it without a problem. Thanks.

    Where did you move the date code for the Off Screen to in this 12/7/09 version? I checked the navigate_800_480.ui file and you have the code in there commented out now but the time and date are still displaying. Please let me know so I can modify it to my liking. Thanks.

    If I want to make the signpost solid instead of the opaque ones that are currently there what does this involve? Is it just a matter of replacing bitmaps or are there other settings that also need to be changed. I liked the old solid green with the dimmed one that brightened for the correct exit (no big deal though).

  11. That ogg file was damn funny!

    Please post the code you put in your start.ui file.

    uh..I already did. Go back up seven or eight posts and re-read where I mentioned in start.ui........

    I won't post what's in my info.ini, but put this way when I picked up my 30 year old niece from downtown Chicago last weekend, she nearly peed in her pants when it re-calculated. She wanted me to put it her her Garmin. Sorry no can do, hun. ha ha

    I saw the below info, but don't know how I forgot about it. I must have been tired. Sorry about that.

    In the start.ui file in the section, I added playsound "welcome"

    Did you put the playsound command inside the

    I will try it out.

    I am going to change my test sound. Maybe to something like Is this loud enough yet. What are you deaf?

    The Kiss was just not cutting it.

    I can't have anything vulgar because my wife and 5 year old son are with me very often.

    I changed my recalulate to "Dave, You're not listening to me." (my first name is Dave, actually David)

  13. As abb1 said the file for the no msn version is corrupt. It needs to be re-zipped and re-uploaded. When extracting it gets a CRC error on the data.zip and fails to extract it.

    Here is the code for the time and date both on the off screen. According to the previous post Diaftia has added this to his data.zip file, plus a little more. You can compare this to the new data.zip.

    In the data.zip file go into ui_pioneer\800_480\ui and open navigatemap_800_480.ui scroll down to the bottom of the file and you should see the ;Time on blank screen section. This is the code for both time and date. The added date info and changed y coordinate are in bold.

    ;Time on blank screen

    You can change color and color2 settings to change the text color. Color is the main text color. Color2 is the outline color. Glowsize is the size of the outline color.

  14. Diaftia,

    Great work on the mods. I installed them yesterday and tested them out for a little while today. I noticed an overlap with the lane guidance and highway signs. Is this in the navigatemap_800_480? If so I can just change the X coordinates.

    Sorry it's a little blurry, I was driving.

    Diaftia that is the lane info Lunar-Eclipse is referring to. I noticed that too but just set mine to bottom instead of top. It would be nice if the top setting put the lane info arrows just below the sign post.

    I got my Pioneer Blue Night theme modified. I left the 3D view with the night colors because when I tried the day colors I thought it was too bright. I just changed the 2D colors to the same as the day colors.

    Here is a picture of my modified off screen. I put the colors to red with a green outline for Christmas. After Christmas I will probably change t to all blue. The colors actually look better than the attached jpg file. It lost a little in saving to jpg. The pic is from the emulator. I tried to get a decent pic from the F7010BT but was using my cell phone and could not get one that showed the colors good.

    I have not figure out how to change the date format so that I can also get the day. All I can tell is that the setting_800_480.ui seems to be passing the button press to a script in the ui_pioneer\common\ui\setting.ui file. The script looks like it runs there but I can't tell what it is accessing to actually set the date. Maybe it is inside a dll. If anyone figures it out that would be great but I will live with what I have for now.

    If anyone wants my settings for displaying the time and date I would be happy to post them. Thanks agin to N-S-E-W for the info to get it working.

    post-32782-12872760358719_thumb.jpg

  15. Hey Alex! Nice job as always. Although I voted for the small button menus - I think I actually like this build better. I do have a stupid question I have been meaning to ask.What exactly do the red vs. blue themes change? I have changed my theme to Pioneer Red Day/Night, but can't see a single thing that has changed.

    Thanks again.

    Jim

    One thing I noticed on the red theme vs the blue theme is the map color for red is more of a gray tone whereas on the blue theme the map color is white. I don't know what else changes.

    I actually like the original 3.0 Pioneer Blue Day theme with the Blue Bar across the top.

  16. Got MSN error again on No MSN version.

    It says FFUI Error.

    FFUIERROR: Unknow object identifier Identifier=[ui_QuickMenuButtonMSN] Script "[unnamed]" command 5

    As you should be able to see by the picture this was on the Extras screen.

    I was on the main Nav screen without a route, pressed the folder icon (so that I could get to settings), pressed the Extras button then went to press the Settings button. The error popped up just as I was pressing the settings button. I am no sure if I pushed the settings button correctly or hit the screen just below the settings button because my hand slid slightly below Settings button then I saw the error pop up.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I got the Time with the Date on the off screen using the info from N-S-E-W. I can post a pic and my settings later.

    I have not figured out a way to get the day of the week displayed yet. I see settings for date format in the setting_800_480.ui file. I played with them a bit but don't yet understand what everything is doing to know if I can change the date format. My current date format is MM/DD/YYYY. My thinking is that if there is a way to change the regional setting for date format then it could be changed to DDDD, MMM/DD/YYYY. This would allow it display the date on the off screen like this, Friday, DEC/04/2009. since it is getting the date format from the system setting that is set in the regional settings. Any thoughts on this?

    DD = Two digit date like 12

    DDD = Abreviated day like Fri for Friday

    DDDD = Full day like Friday

    MM = Two digit date like 12

    MMM = Abreviated month like Dec for December

    MMMM = Full month like December

    Here is the info from the setting_800_480.ui file:

    I also want to change the Pioneer Blue Night screen to have the same color as the Pioneer Blue Day screen except with the night skyline. I have not looked at the files yet to see what I need to change.

    post-32782-12872760339856_thumb.jpg

  17. Don't worry if it's not perfectly clear. Please send whatever you have. I could have something in there someplace referencing the removed layer. I should probably just leave the layer in there and comment out the contents.

    If it happens again I will try to get it, but really the message was unreadable. It was dark and maybe my camera angle was bad or something because the picture was clear but the error text was unreadable.

  18. Thanks N-S-E-W:

    I am going to give it a try.

    I understand completely what you are saying about putting things in the correct place inside the tags, etc. I have done some minor html coding and understand the concept. I just have not dug into these things yet to see what all is there are the meaning of all the different settings is a lot to understand at first. Also moving the X and Y coordinates should not be a problem, just a little trial and error. I may want to move the ui file out of the data zip for testing until I get it like I want.

    I am also going to spend a bit of time to see if I can find the picture with the day displayed so I will know where it came from.

    I got an error on this mod tonight. I don't know exactly what cause the error because I was showing my 5 year old son the nav and he started pushing buttons on the screen. I took a picture with my cell phone unfortunately the text of the error massage was not clear enough. I am using the no msn version since I have an F7010BT but the error message said something about msn and not finding a correct file or something like that. If it happens again I will try to get a good pic and not how it happened.

  19. How did you put the time in the off screen? If possible I would like to mod that to have it display the time, day and date like in my attached picture where I modified your picture of the screen using MSPaint.

    Yeah I can do that. You want me to tell you how or just wait till I get to it? Its in the ui_blankscreen layer in the navigatemap_800 file.

    I don't think there's a visiblemodel for day of week. The date should be no problem at all.

    Day of the week format is usually dddd. I know I saw a pic on the forum where someone had the time on the main nav screen with the day of the week directly below it but I don't remember where or I would post it.

    I found this code in the data.zip ui_pioneer\800x480\ui\navigatemap_800_480.ui file but I don't know how to change it to get my desired results.

    ;Time on blank screen

    I was expecting to find something in the usual day/date format of mm/dd/yyyy, which was not there. I don't know what to put with the formatmodel="local.short_timeformat" since I am new to all this.

  20. For those who get incorrect destination left/right announce (that is now on by default in this mod). You can live with that, replace your TeleAtlas POI files with Navteq POI files and get much better dest. announce results but have fewer POIs (at least in my experience) or disable the left right dest. announce.

    To disable (override the default value) edit your sys.txt file and add the below information:

    [sound]

    announce_viadest_side=0

    Save the sys.txt file with this added info and use your modified one instead of the one diaftia included.

    Diaftia,

    This is a great mod from what limited testing I have done so far and what I see on my screen. I can hardly wait to use this a bit more and figure things out.

    One question:

    How did you put the time in the off screen? If possible I would like to mod that to have it display the time, day and date like in my attached picture where I modified your picture of the screen using MSPaint.

    post-32782-12872760319879_thumb.jpg

  21. Have you tried using 3D mode without making that change? I havent loaded up this version of his mod but used past versions and the beta for this release and didnt have to edit anything to see the sky in 3D. 8)

    I have not tried it but just wanted to make it clear so that all will know how to enable or disable it. From what I gathered from a search since this seems to be already enabled to disable it you would comment out the lines like this:

    [map]

    2dheadup=1

    zoomfactor=110

    3d_tunnels=1

    show_oneway=1

    3d_roads=1

    ;3d_max_tiltlevel=8800

    ;3d_max_zoomlevel=1500

    ;3dcarsizemin=2500

    ;3dcarsizemax=5000

    ;3dcarsizemul=15000

    at least that is what I found in another thread.

  22. In step 4 of your instructions it says:

    If you want to show sky in the 3D map mode then edit out the semicolons in the [map] section of the sys.txt file before copying over to the AVIC.

    There are no lines in the map section os sys.txt that have semicolons in front of them. Which ones are you referring to? Here is the map section of your included sys.txt file.

    [map]

    2dheadup=1

    zoomfactor=110

    3d_tunnels=1

    show_oneway=1

    3d_roads=1

    3d_max_tiltlevel=8800

    3d_max_zoomlevel=1500

    3dcarsizemin=2500

    3dcarsizemax=5000

    3dcarsizemul=15000

  23. Finally other people are chiming in. Its better when that happens so I have something to go on.

    My mods do have a lot of bells and whistles. Each of these bells and whistles does take memory to function. I think I might need to start setting them to off by default rather than on. If people want to start turning them on they can do so. I think with all of the bells and whistles I might be exceeding the limits of what the hardware can do. It is so odd that some people have this problem and some don't. I have been using my mods for months and have never once had a memory error. As you can imagine this makes it hard to troubleshoot.

    The cache size parameter is one that IDT had in his mods. There is a default value, I am sure, if not specified. Feel free to comment it out or change it and let me know what happens.

    As far as the file size is concerned this is partially due to 3 things. One is the audio files for the spoken warning. This is about 1.5MB. The other thing is some branding files that N-S-E-W put into the mods before I started modding them. He had mentioned to me that I might want to take them out since I include an external branding file. That is about 2mb from what I can remember. The other things are the menu images and other supporting images for all the cool screens. Cool screens are nice but they take images to render and those images can add up. I have not ran a lot of them through the igo image converter. I will try to do that. I think I can reduce the size of my mods by at least 5mb I am just not sure that will help the cache thing, but it might. If anything it will free up space on the units. I am not sure if BMP's being smaller translates into less memory used. If it does, that should help.

    If anyone has any experience from a coding perspective on how to keep caches clear please chime in. I will be more than happy to go through the code and apply any techniques that make things more efficient.

    So where in the data.zip are these branding files from N-S-E-W in case I (or others) would like to remove then to reduce the size?

    I am about to try out you V2 mod to see how it goes. Thanks for the great work.
