  1. BREAK INTO MY HOUSE WHILE I`M HOME?,

THAT THEIF IS GONNA GET SHOT DEAD IN THE HEAD.

Exactly. Perfectly legal, and they can't sue if they're dead.

you Americans and your guns... lol

I don't know where you are basstoy but not long ago I heard a story on the news about a Brit man living out in the countryside that had his house robbed several times. The guy got a shotgun (brits ain't supposed to have no guns, not the way I usually speak but sounded good for this situation) and shot the burgular. Guess what, the guy went to jail for shooting the bugular.

This world is crazy and we the people need to put some sanity back into it. Thieves should not have many rights. They especially should not have the right to sue someone because they got hurt while being a thief.

  2. I'm OK with the settings etc. in >navigate_800_480, thats where I have done most of my alterations. But I've found a shed load of info including date format/delimiter, clock format, allsorts: it's in >setting_800_480. Gona do some exploring now :)

Edit - there's all the info regarding date order, delimiter etc., i.e.

    DD.MM.YYYY

    MM/DD/YYYY

    DD-MM-YYYY

    :)

As for updates I was referring to this info to possible change the delimiters. etc.

  3. My install went without a hitch and response is faster as has been said here.

The one thing I have noticed that still needs major improvement is the bluetooth. It sometimes still takes some time for the screen to show the call. This is a problem because if I accidently dial the wrong number I can;t quickly disconnect.

  4. I have not done any mods yet. I have an F7010BT US version. I am running the latest official Pioneer version 3.02 firmware and maps that came with this update.

This is the first mod I want to try. (And yes I know to backup before changing anything)

It took me a while to find this with a search.

From what I have read I believe this mods goes in the nav_800_480.ui, but have not looked yet.

Please give me the complete path to the file I need to modify to put this code in.

From the above post I assume if I change the font size to match the clock font size I might need to change the W and H values. Also to move it to the left of the time I would change the X and Y values.

I should be able to catch on quickly. I have made some simply Windows Registry files before and know some basic html, but am not a programmer. I have been a computer tech by trade I just have to get used to this and dig in. I have been waiting for my official update before I tried anything and my time has been very limited.

  5. I have the HD module and an antennae splitter. My brother installed my F7010BT because he does this stuff for a living. When he first installed it he did not put the splitter but when I tested it I noticed no standard AM/FM so I had him put in the splitter. It is nice to have he splitter so that in ares where HD fades in and out you can switch to standard AM or Fm and not have the problem any more.

I sure wish the HD module displayed the damn present info though.

  6. Any pictures as the first post don't work anymore?

Pics on first post don't work any more. Probably disappeared after recent forum crash/restore. GTIMatt can you please post new pics for all to see. Thanks.

  7. And the HD radio presets are still blank.

That's truly terrible. WTF is all I can say.

I'm thinking I'll just get a Zune HD and mount it next to the radio for HD.. lol. At least it can show the name of the station...

I think it is the HD module itself because I had my head unit repalced due to Bluetooth failure and did not loose any HD presets. this tells me it is the HD unit storing this info and not the head unti.

  8. I installed my update without any problems whatsoever. I did not have any mods on my deck. Maybe they are bad cards or maybe some mods are causing the problems.

    Password should be 16 digits

I have the hardware brake bypass installed, had it since day 1.

I like the unit much better now. Looks better, much more responsive, etc. Now I just need some good mods like the one from Stanislavovich, but ported to 3.0.

I did loose my Custom 1 and Custom 2 EQ settings.

  9. I got threw to a tech. was on hold for 5 mins. Said that, "They dont expect the server to be up till later in the week. And that the server is based in Japan, and the area has been hit some some sort of Earthquake."

I purchased mine with Paypal. I think im gonna file a dispute on the transaction. See what happens. This is crap.

I got through today also and was told it might be a few days and that the server is in Japan.

I worked in IT for 21 years and find know that a big company like this should have a redundant (co-loacted) system, but it appears they did not. They probably were cutting cost as much as possible like most companies these days.

I am disappointed that I can't get my password now but I don't want to sue or shoot anyone.

I would be fairly certain that many of Pioneer's IT staff were on-call and got called but there are probably bigger problems to deal with. Also we have no idea what problems they have. Maybe they loaded backup and something still did not work correctly. I have had that happen before. When it did I had to rebuild the server then just load the website data, which was probably a days work.

Things happen, take your meds and be patient. Go have a few beers or something. Complaining here may make you feel better but it won't bring the website up any faster.

    -------------------- Update ---------------------

Right after I submitted this I saw the above post, tried it and got my password.

  10. Hello All,

I just saw Pioneer updated my order status from Pending Shipment to "Shipped: 08/11/2009".

At the time of my Order, the update cost $60 + $5 for shipping. I just checked today, $120!!!! Thats nuts!

I will be getting my official update any day now. If anyone knows a good place to host the files let me know.

The official name of the order:

    CNSD-100FM

    MAP update- AVIC-F90BT,-F900BT,-F700BT

Actually the current price is $79. I just checked. It says $120 on the first page but once you click the Buy now button it will show a price of $79.

My official update is on the way also and should arrive on 8/14/09.

  11. After walking through all the steps, everything looks to be ok but the system constantly reboots every 5 minutes. I hear the new button sounds, and can check the system info and it shows I am running 3.0 firmware. But the "System Startup" message never goes away, and the whole unit reboots after 5 minutes.

I am thinking it is the WinCE update. When booting into testmode, and checking the WinCE version, it shows that it is 5.0. I thought I read here (somewhere??) that it should be 6.x. I grabbed all the files from page one in this thread, and didn't get any errors at any stage. I am running a F900BT. Any help would be much appriciated!

    Thanks

I had 2.0 firmware and recently update it to 2.006. The wince on it was 6.1.70 and was updated to 6.1.7.2. See the attached picture.

    post-32782-12872757969026_thumb.jpg

  12. - bootup time

    - slow menus and button responses

    I agree with these.

    - bluetooth - hangs for 50 seconds after most calls

I have had occasional problems but very limited and seems to be better with the 2.006.

    - the reverse camera takes 10 seconds to come on after starting the car

Not using a reverse camera at present but this would not be an issue for me, I can wait.

    - ipod VR mode sucks - I have to go through the menu to turn it on and off again. Good lord how hard is it to add a small icon in the corner of the ipod source interface that would initiate this process without having to go through crap load of menus?!?!

I am not using an ipod so no issues for me - I do sympathize for you ipod users.

    - when I am in the settings and I press the upper left corner, it takes me to the source selection rather than the actual source

Not really an issue for me but interface could be smarter.

    - the fader/balancer is slowwww

    - the EQ settings customization is slowwwwwwww

Never found this to be an issue. I pretty much set my settings then forget it. Rarely ever change anything.

    - selection of songs in SD, the selection of XM radio channels, the selection of artists or genres via ipod are all painfully slow

    - I cant actually SEE what song is currently on when in ipod/SD/XM mode and in song/preset selection mode. This has got to be the stupidest UI decision EVER. Why should I have to toggle back and forth between modes just to see who is playing, and use the preset mode?

I don't have XM or ipod but I do find it stupid that while listening to the radio I have to keep changing the disp mode to go between station name display, artist name and song name. Why can't we have them all scrool or have multiple lines of info?

    - trying to initiate a phone call within 30 seconds of bootup - currently my system "reboots", then takes 2 minutes to finish booting, and ends up putting me in the phone call menu. Just press the button after 10 seconds, or 15 seconds, and it freaks out.

I can wait for the system to boot up, but I never had a problem with the system rebooting when trying to use the phone. I have had a couple of random reboots though.

    - takes 2 minutes to connect to the phone

    Not an issue for me.

    - turn the car off while on a phone call, takes who knows how long for the phone to kick over to handset mode. My wife's OEM system takes 2 seconds, if that.

Another non issue for me. I never noticed the time lag. I don't talk on the phone a lot. My phone stays in a belt holster. I just shut the car off and walk away.

    - When you reach your fucking destination, the damn thing wont end the route automatically! After it says your destination has been reached it needs to STFU.

Mine unit usually ends the route if it realizes I am at my destination although many times it does not realize I am in the right place since gps is sometimes off slightly due to a destination like some store being off the road a bit.

    - It randomly decides to automatically set the route to home, for no reason whatsoever when you turn it on! This may be hard to test since it does it only once a month or so. You know it has happened if you turn it on and before the screen pops up it tells you to take your next left.

Nevr had this happen in the four plus months I have had my unit. Sounds like a bad unit to me.

    - The ipod randomly connects when you turn it on. I get about a 60% connect rate despite a brand new cable, and perfectly good ipod touch. Restarting the car is the fix for this. Well after driving for 30 seconds and realizing it didnt connect.

Again I don't have an ipod, but this does seem to be a problem from other post I have read.

    - OH! If the voice recognition does not understand you, it say "WHATWASIT?" That drives me nuts

It is voice recognition and it is not perfect. I have had cell phones that sucked at this too.

    - Samantha in general just sucks.

I agree. There are many other voices there but for some reason Pioneer did not enable them. I notice quite a few different vioce files while I was watching my 2.006 update.

    - the bluetooth randomly sets call volume. Sometimes a call is blaringly loud, sometimes I cant hear the caller at all, and sometimes the frigging controls for volume don't even show up!! Sometimes the music continues in the background (at full volume) and sometimes not.

I never had bluetooth volume issues. I am on my second F7010BT though because bluetooth quit working on my first one.

These are just the ones off the top of my head

My main complaints are as follows:

    1. Slow response

    2. Occasional lockups

    3. Poor interface without choice of different color schemes on map screen. (Can be fixed through mods but should be available options)

    4. HD module does not show station present info. (UNACCEPTABLE)

    5. No nav voice mute. (Fix by mod only)

    6. Clock on Radio screen is so small it is almost unusable.

    7. Stock clock on nav screen is hard to read at times. (Another mod only fix)

    8. Speed cam should be available without mod.

    9. Not being able to chose the type of route I want to set at the time of inputting the route, such as choosing Fast, Avoid Highways, etc. at route time instead of have to go through a bunch of menus and change routing selections. If anyone has every used a Hertz Magellan system you will know how it should be. If you have not used one or any other good system rent a Hertz car with nav for one day to try it.

I might be able to think of some more but I don't want to at this time. Even with these fault I think it is a pretty nice unit for the price I paid.

  13. The complete hardware bypass involves both grounding the parking brake wire and moving and grounding the mute wire. When this is done, there is nothing else to bypass. The software bypass simply substitutes moving the mute wire with changing the speed setting in the INI file. The end result is identical.

When I had hard wire bypass only, I would get a parking brake warning when I went over 10mph (I think that is the correct override speed), this continued until I did the software bypass.

Either way, the question remains: can you still software bypass using testmode in 3.0

The only way that is possible is you screwing up the process. Moving and grounding the mute wire would have eliminated that problem.

True. I have had the hardware bypass from day one of my install and have always had full functionality of my unit.

Your hardware bypass must have been faulty.

Question still remains as to testmode working (apparently yes) and what modes can be done. Hopefully more will become clear soon.

  14. There will be a page on Pioneer's website. You will give it your info and serial number, and it generates an activation code for YOUR unit. Also, your not paying for bug fixes, your paying for the 2009 map licensing fee.

This means that a programmer/hacker could make a keygen where a person could put in their serial and generate the necessary activation code, same as has been done with a lot of software apps. Don't know if that will happen but someone could possibly figure that out.
