  1. Thanks for the reply.

I got my 700p about 4 months ago so that must be the problem. Screwing up the bluetooth application on an update us just plain stupid. I wonder if any has complained about it so they would fix it?

Unfortunately, I have to stick with my 700p because of work and the applications that are on it. Oh well. I'll be sending the BTB200 back this week.

  2. I tried installing the BTB200 Bluetooth adaptor to my Avic-D3 and everything hooked up fine. The BTB200 recognized my Palm Treo 700p and my 700p found the BTB200 (after a few tries).

I entered 0000 on my cell phone to make it a trusted device. However, when I tried getting the two to talk to each other (via Connect Phone) and touching my phone name, it only gives me "Connection Error". No reason, just an error.

I must have spent 4 hours trying to get the two to work together but was never able to. I'm trying to determine if the BTB2000 I received is defective or if they truely don't work together.

Before I send the BTB200 back, does anyone have any suggestions?

  3. How can you tell how many ohms the stock speakers are?

I drive a 2005 Kia Sorento LX (no separate amp like in the EX model). Is there an installer here that can check it out for me? I've had my D3 installed for about a month now with no problems.

There are 4" or 5" speakers in the bottom of the door panels and small tweeters in the middle of the door (near the side mirror controls).

    Thanks.

  4. I also have a Zune and will be hooking it up to the D3 Aux RCA cables once I take my dash apart again. Do you have any photos of your setup?

I can't decide on whether to make female RCA plugs available near my enter console so I can hook my zune into them....or.....connect an RCA to Mini cable from the back of my D3 and send it out to my center console so I only have to put the mini plug into my Zune.

And I agree. The Zune is very easy to use.

  5. Ok. Figured it out.

When you go to type in the address you're searching for, you can select the little number (current region) in the top left hand corner of the screen. There's no label or symbol for it....just a number. This allows you to change which states you'll be searching in. I chose the region that contains Ohio (I think it was 6).

I then typed in the address and started driving. Since the D3 already knows I'm currently in PA, it was able to route to the Ohio address from Pennsylvania.

    Kinda clunky but it works.

  6. First of all, I really feel bad for you. Nobody deserves an install that looks like that.

I'm also in Pittsburgh and installed the D3 myself in my Sorento. But I'm not good enough or know enough about your ride to fix you up.

However, you could call Quintex at 2311 Babcock Blvd Pittsburgh, PA 15237 412-939-3301. I was originally going to have them do my install before I decided to tackle it myself.

They've been in this kind of business for a long time and I would have easily trusted them. Let us know how it works out.

  7. I live in Pennsylvania and will be going on a trip to Ohio. The maps for Pennsylvania are on one DVD and Ohio is on the other.

If I put the Ohio DVD in to find the address and then put the Pennsylvania DVD back in, will it automatically route me across the two states?

    Thanks.

  8. I have a couple of days left to decide whether I should purchase the extended warranty for my D3 from Consumer Priority Service. It costs $79.95 for 3 years.

Has anyone here dealt with this company, and if so, how was their service?

If you have any other suggestions for extended warranty companies, please let me know.

    Thanks.

  9. For those of you who use the RCA inputs and/or outputs with your D3, where did you mount your connections to them? I own a Zune and would like to use the A/V inputs for the audio and video, but am not sure where I should install the wires coming from the D3.

I'd also like to have the RCA outputs available to temporarily hook up backseat monitors for the kids.

I currently own a Kia Sorento SUV and am looking for ideas.

    Thanks.

  10. I finished the install of the D3 in my 2005 Kia Sorento LX. I also included the Sirius adaptor.

I do have a question, though.

Is it ok to use the wiring harness power and ground wires to run the D3 and Sirius adaptor? Everything is working perfectly, but I want to make sure I don't create any long term problems.

    Here's a couple of pix.

  11. Hey Tommy,

I live in North Hills (Pittsburgh) too. Was it the McKnight Road Circuit City? I just purchased a wiring harness from them today since Crutchfield sent me the wrong one.

They were real nice. They let me borrow a screwdriver to take my radio out just to make sure the wiring harness was the right one.

Maybe we can hook up and compare installs. I'm doing mine myself now.

  12. I'm about to install my D3 and have two quick questions.

    1. What's the best way to connect the D3 wires to the wiring harness? Sould I solder them or use those crimping clips?

    2. Where is the best place (and how) to mount a Sirius adaptor? I was thinking under the front driver's seat but am not sure what to attach it to under there.

I have a Kia Sorento SUV.

    Thanks.

  13. I was wondering how fast it takes for the navigation in the D3 to start working (finding satellites) after starting up your car?

I'm a real estate agent and I make a lot of stops to see various houses and I need the navigation to start routing me to my next house pretty quickly. My current portable Magellan takes about 20 seconds or so.

    Thanks.

  14. Ok. Thanks.

Right now I have a portable Magellan GPS and that's what I do. I enter all of the destinations and cancel all of them. That way they get stored in the memory and I can bring them up as previous destinations. At least I'll be able to do that with the D3 too.

  15. Can the D3 do trip planning? I'm a real estate agent and a lot of times I show 10 or 15 houses to my clients one after another. It would be nice to input all of the addresses and plan a trip so once I reach location 1, it will automatically load location 2....then 3....then 4....etc.

Is this possible with the D3?
