I just want to clarify the requirements for these maps.

I currently have version 3.1 running on my F90bt. Will this map be compatible?

Some files appear different that what I currently have. They are:

1) Currently I have several different DEM files: Africa, Canada, Eurasia, North_America, Oceania, and South_America. Do I really need to remove all of these when the new map content only has NorthAmerica_low_2008_03_25?

2) My current speedcam file has a .spud extension whereas this map has .stxt extension. What is the difference... I'm assuming they will continue to work.

What is the difference between Skin1 and Skin2. Also what is the difference between FINAL MSN and FINAL MSN - alternate?

Does anyone have the final code they can post or email? I have the Beta 4 (I believe) and had planned on getting the final version, but was just tied up over the last couple of months with work. I would like to get the final release (US version - with MSN Direct) if possible.

What are the green bullets that show up on the map? So far I have only seen them on the Interstate, but I just put in the v3 update and this mod. I'm not sure if they are part of the mod, or if they are part of 3.0. They are just round green filled in circles that show up at various points on the road while driving. When I reach one, it sometimes moves further up the road. It's not always there however.

Is there any documentation on what all the indicators are, and what special hidden functions are available? For instance, to say that if you touch the clock, it may open another screen, or when you touch the street name, the house numbers pop up. I have found some of them, but just wondering if there is any document that lists all the available features.

Thanks. I can't believe I missed that. I had gone through the setup screen multiple times looking for it. I guess it's just not something that I change very often.

In my previous mod that I was using with version 2(and I can't even remember which one I was using), there were updated voice files that made the speech sound slightly more real, and the voice file was just over 2mb compared to the current one which I believe is under 100k, not sure on that. If I copy the voice file over the current, should that work fine?

It also appears that the boot screen is the same custom screen from the last mod. Apparently it's not stored in the "My Flash Disk" folder as I replaced that whole folder during the 3.0 upgrade. I would like to also keep the previous modded selection screen (where you select Destination, Contacts, or Audio). Is that a simple file, or is that included in the data.zip file?

Oh one BIG question on a feature that I've been wanting since the beginning. Is it possible to create a "detour" option? I also have a Garmin Nuvi and one useful feature is when you get caught in traffic, especially accidents, the Nuvi has a feature that allows you to press a "Detour" button and it will recalculate a path around your current path. It usually tries to bring you out on the same road maybe 10 or 15 miles further down. This is very useful for when the MSN Direct is out of service area. Any type of option for that on the Avic? I know you can set it to avoid a road, but I don't necessarily want to avoid the road forever... just enough to get around the tied up traffic.

I just installed v3.5 and everything looks good so far. Will take me a little time to get used to all the operation changes. I stuck with 3.5 for now to keep the MSN Direct functionality.

 

One thing right off that I can't find (I've searched everywhere I think).... How do you change the Navi voice selection? I can't find any voices to choose from or where you even select them. The default voice is fine, but is it TTS?

turn smart zoom off

But I like that the smart zoom zooms in really close when you are about to make a turn. For the standard zoom, I like it about three clicks in further than the default. It's not a huge deal, but I thought if it's an ini modification, I might be able to do it. I saw the settings for max and min zoom, so Ithought there may be a setting for the standard view zoom.

I guess for the previous question, I'll try putting the default maps back in and see if that fixes the TTS. I had version 2007.10 ( I believe that was it) and had copied in 2008.04.

go to language settings and choose samantha, the reason why the male voice doesn't say street names is because it's not TTS

Okay... Changed the voice to Samantha (TTS) , but I still don't get any street names. Just "Turn right", "In a half mile turn left", "Exit Highway", etc. The street names do show up on the display, but no TTS at all. At one road I think she may have said "two" when the road was Highway 211, but I'm not certain of that. Maybe I should try putting the old map data back on and see if that corrects the voice? Does that have anything to do with TTS?

Newbie here....

I installed the new 2008.4 maps, buildings, and POIs, followed by this Cmh mod. I manually copied in the mod, including the building, lang, voice, license, speed, scheme, speedcam, data.zip and sys.txt, as well as a couple of font files files. I also have the modified EZRider.exe However, I still have the male voice, but worse than that I have zero spoken street names. It is not even a partial street name as some have mentioned. I just get the voice of "In a quarter mile turn left". Street names are displayed on the map, but are not spoken at all. From other posts, it seems that the male voice is supposed to be totally gone. Is that correct? Honestly, at this point, I don't care if it's male or female (I'll worry about that later), but I'm wondering if it's the new maps causing the problem, or if I missed something in the Cmh928 mod that is causing the problem.
