I redid the firmware upgrade and it seems the second file, the yuk, never applied correctly? Or maybe I cancelled it by mistake? I dont know - either way - after reapplying the yuk file it works.

So I partially retract my previous statements - its not 100% suck. But the fact I cannot listen to the radio or pandora while I monitor traffic really sucks.

But its not as bad as I feared.

Pressing the speaker does this:

When I press the speaker the screen clears and it says Off at the top. I can't do anything til I hit the center home button and turn it back on.

Phone disconnected, BT off. Turn appradio off.

Have to turn it back on to get into settings.

Click App Connection Settings. It does say Others.

But when I click it it just tells me to do what you just did. I can't change it.

Also forgot to mention. Furiously pissed that in the $50 HDMI cable box that I waited 2 months for the instructions tell me I dont even NEED the goddamned $50 HDMI cable. Any USB Lightning + HDMI will work.

So I upgrade to an iphone 5, woo!

I find out I need a new $50 cable, AND a $50 apple adapter to make it work. Awesome.

I buy said parts and hook it all up.

First of all, my damn appradio wont do a thing because it thinks its paired to an Android device! I'm using the CD-IH202 kit from Pioneer, and genuine apple cables and adapters. And it thinks its a damn android!

AND, AND, I come here for a solution, and see that this setup makes me lose half the damn functionality I actually want! Assuming I can convince my Appradio that it's an iphone and NOT an android... somehow (any clue how?) I lose my ipod app (so presumably Siri control over itunes too) AND I need to play Pandora over bluetooth?

What do I gain?

Some crappy apps on the head unit?

Total fail Pioneer.

The 30 pin adapter is not capable of providing the necessary video the AppRadio needs. Pioneer is fixing it using the Lightning to HDMI adapter to provide the AppRadio with a video source and a way to charge the iPhone 5. The phone will be controlled via bluetooth, hence the need for a software update. Also I believe all the apps have to be updated to support controlling the iPhone 5 via bluetooth. 

Jesus. So the iphone 5, as of right now, doesnt do jack squat with the Appradio other than play music?

Will the Appradio2 work with the 30-pin to Lightning coverter cable, or do i HAVE to buy the iPhone 5 Pioneer cable?

Right now, with it, music works, but any time I try and view any apps, the screen is black.

I've read about issues with iOS 6.1 and the Appradio, and I'm not sure if thats the problem or if it's the converter cable.

Bought an Appradio2 last night, iPhone 5, jailbroken 6.1, and NOTHING shows up on my "Apps" screen on the Appradio. Whee.

Here's Keepers 7/29/09 mod with the speedcams added. Its ONLY the data.zip - you need to put the speedcam.txt files and edit the sys.txt yourself, but the important parts in the data.zip are updated. Took me 4 seconds to do.

I've never adjusted those numbers... when I was running 2.0 I liked to have my default tilt a lot closer to the ground, so there was about 1/2" of sky/horizon showing at the top of my screen, and I never touched the tiltlevel. Like I said tho, in addition my sys.txt had restore smartzoom=1, and in my system, it was set to off... like it never read the setting.

I did see in the sys.txt that came with the sky mod the max tiltlevel=9000, I added that to my sys.txt we'll see what happens.

Well thats annoying. It there a way to reboot the unit without turning the car off? I've made a habit of starting a large copy before I drive off, then as I'm heading down the road, 10 mins later when the copy is done I'll hit the reset button to boot the unit without havinng to pull over and turn my car off and on again.

I've made some changes in sys.txt that just dont seem to be applying to my unit.

I was messing with the sky mod posted here in another thread, and part of that mod is changing the min and max angles for 3d mode so you can see the horizon... after I first updated to 3.0 it worked... then I had the bad speedcam mod where you couldnt set a route, and was messing with Keeper's mod and another on here (I forget who's it is).

After getting the speedcam thing fixed, and trying both keepers and the other mod, the angle changes I'm making in sys.txt just arent working. I'm locked in at the stock angles. Anyone know why? Is there a setting I can place in sys.txt that would let me test and see if its being read/used at all? (Like some setting that makes an obvious change). I've pulled the sys.txt off my unit, and right in there, it says:

But those angles just arent sticking. I cannot pan down enough to see the horizon... the sky mod has the min and max angles at min 81 and max 85... 78 should get me in the right area (and on my 2.0 unit I had the same 45/78 numbers and I had horizon all the time).

In addition, I have restore_smartzoom_on=1, but when I first loaded this sys.txt, I went into the config menu, and restore smartzoom was OFF. Telling me its not even trying to read my sys.txt.

Any thoguhts?

Sometimes I am, yeah... will the reset button kill my presets?

I'm gonna try Keeper's data.zip and another I saw here on the forums and see if those keep my presets, set.

I'm not using a data.zip from this site - I'm using the one from the 3.01 update, and I've been manually modding it by adding stuff from other mods so I can get a custom mod that has everything I want.

Every time I update the data.zip on the unit, my presets get reset!

Anyone have a clue why? I'm thinking the data.zip from the 3.01 has something funky in it. If I use a data.zip from here (Keepers, or one of the others that are slightly modded) can/will that conflict with the 3.01 update? Is the 3.01 data.zip any different than the 3.0 data.zip?

Grr! I just spent 2 hours tracking down that routing error, and was about to post here saying, hey, place.ui is broken! Guess you just fixed it. With the mod in I couldnt set a route...

So now I gotta start looking at the 2.0 SpeedCam mod. I liked the voice saying "Red Light Camera", and being able to set the beep distance (I had it beep 400 feet from the camera, instead of like 2/10ths of a mile out...

Fact is the beep is kinda quiet, and I'm not always gonna see the box on the screen. I like the audible alert. So I'll see if I can find a way to get it back in. The 2.0 and 3.0 files are a lot different though.

The 2.0 speedcam mod allowed you to set a distance for being alerted with beeps, and in addition had voice notifications. Anyone know how to turn that on? I'm not even sure what ui file to look at for that one!

What exactly is in the data.zip that needs to be there for the speedcam to work? I'm trying to merge some mods here, and 3 I'm messing with have data.zip's...

Whats different in the data.zip that I could manually edit my other one for?

NEVERMIND - found it on page 2... gonna go give this a shot on my 3.01...

It seems all cameras are alerting at .5 miles out - having a red light camera half a mile away being alerted seems really overkill, sometimes there are 5 lights between me and the camera. Where can I edit the file to send the alerts closer, like .2 miles? Is that possible?

Thats what I thought. If the F700 was discontinued, it wouldnt be for sale at Best Buy for $650, it'd be on clearance.

I'm getting the runaround and lied to by Abes of Maine about my trying to order a F700. They are insisting it's been discontinued. Also lied to me and said its replaced with the F7010 - to be released in June. Funny. How many of you here already have the F7010?

Anyone know if it truly is discontinued? I'd like to prove them wrong, or at least know this company thats been lying to me for days may be saying something truthful.
