I have been trying to find this out as well but no luck. It seems like the units are no longer utilizing that file for a background on the top menu. If I add a file with that name I get a background in the navi related menus.

Anybody wanna sell me their copy? D12dirtydozen@verizon.net
Cant sell it to you. You will not be able to install it. Once you put in the codes and have Pioneers web site generate your key that media code for the sd cards are now locked to the unit code that the original person provided to pioneer. Now if you can hack it more power to ya.
I wonder how many times people are going to ask this. Awesome way to get burned. Its well worth the 70 dollars, granted I haven't seen any difference thus far from the x series 3.0.
Best bet is to just grab a copy of that call it a day rather then beg someone for their sd card that is locked down.
I it was faster and easier anyway to just drag and drop the x series files after formatting the drive. Everything was just done in one shot. None of this lets put in multiple sd cards, update the software twice, and install the map update software. Not to mention deal with the activation server.
Way to encourage going legit Pioneer, especially when there are ways around it that people just don' tknow about.
I wonder how many times he is going to ask the same question before he realizes he is being a moron.

i have a question about that
what's keeping anyone from changing the boot up screen?
haha,I guess he didn't think about that.

So far the maps and signboards have been fairly accurate... BUT I have noticed that the routing at time is WAY off! I just drove from Austin, TX to SLC, UT and there were a few times it told me to get off the highway just to get back on 3 miles down the road. Also just driving around town here it was telling me to basically get off at the next exit then go around basically in a circle just to get back onto the freeway and continue on my journey! I did NOT have these issues with the previous software/maps...
Well that's why you should look up where you are going and use the GPS as a guide and not a crutch.

Veteran users of iGO say that Navteq are best choice for the U.S. and for Europe TeleAtlas have the edge...
Are we going to need a hacked EZrider to run the different maps?
-
Got a question for ya IDT. Who is responsible for the implementation of the "Can't make a left/right turn" sign that appears on the right side of the unit? I am guessing that is is a function of the iGO software implementation than your mod. I am wondering because I have run into quite a few situations where it is completely wrong and is more a distraction than help. Is there a way to remove that? Thanks.

This new CommonLib.dll file is very unstable and does not produce the desired outcome, which is removing the navi warning screen on startup when the unit was left on the navigation screen at shutdown.
Which is why I am waiting for Carver to get his working again.

Version: 3.01
Model:F7010BT
Legitimate: No
Opinion:Was a pain to get it to work as Win CE would not update until I used the updater from the 3.01 update installer. I am still waiting for the Mod gods to update their mods to work with 3.xx. So far seems like a worthwhile update paid or not.
Possible Improvements: Start up of music seems quicker as I almost immediately get music from my last source though boot up to an actual menu is about the same. Button response is quicker as long as you don't try to blitz the unit with touch commands. Cycling through XM categories is much quicker and less frustrating. Cannot comment on the Ipod, SD card, video, or backup camera functionality as I don't have or use them. I like the 2D up option that we now have. I personally like the beeps of the unit when I touch the screen. It gives me positive feedback that the unit registered a touch. I don't know if 2.0 had this, but I do like how different buttons have different sounds.
Problems: I now have problems with the BT phone connection. For the few days I have had the update, the majority of the time I cannot answer calls because the audio is not being outputted even though I can talk to the person on the phone itself or once the phone starts dialing from a VR command I get a reboot. Never had the reboot problem before, occasionally had the no audio problem. The unit is still a bit laggy at some points. If I press buttons rapidly the unit seems to get confused and does not respond.

Here is NO WARNING pack
Unpack it into APL directory on your F900 with 3.01 software and you never seen any warning messages (expect while the system is startup)

your first link has run out of downloads and the file in the second link does not work.

The name of the file that you are looking for is called "746_32K_MN-000_24b.bmp" and it is inside the image.res file. The hard part about changing that picture is that it is hidden. In the "common" folder of the image.res file, it should be the very first picture however mine I believe is hidden and I can't get it to show up. When I select all the files in the common folder, it says that I have selected 349 files but in the folder properties it says that there are really 351 files in the folder. I am pretty sure that the file for the back ground is one of the hidden files. If you can get that file to show up, I am pretty sure you would be able to change the background...but I might be way off.
You may be correct there. I have tried looking for that file with no success. Maybe I can try that out. it seems like people had been able to change that file before but maybe Pioneer hid the file to prevent modding and technical problems from users. Thanks for that input.

I have se it done some where in these forums but can't remember where. So it is possible to do. May have to dig a little or look it up on youtube.
Try and locate the threads. I am wondering if those posts may have been for a different set of of models.
-
I ran into the same misinterpretation last time. I am not sure what the OP means by background, but I atleast wanted to know about using a pic while the unit is in use after boot up such as the main menu. I assume that is what the OP means since the "wallpaper" is used.
-
For your benefit: Be aware that this was asked before in a previous thread by numerous people, myself included, and we got chewed out by certain members of the forum for not searching the forum. However, I have yet to find a thread that explains how to add a background picture, though it has been said that there are. I hope someone with the knowledge responds so we can get figure it out.

Change the 3d_max_tiltlevel to "=8800"
and then change the defaulttilt3d to "=8100"
This way you can tilt it to see a bit of sky but will default back to 8100 which is just a bit.
You should like that.
Good luck,
Bud
I don't see that default tilt code anywhere. Do we add that in as an extra line in the [map] section?
yes
Thanks.
-
Carver, the download is not working. I get an error saying that the file is corrupt when I try to open it.

was the software bypass implemented on the data.zip file? It does not seem so as I get the error message telling me to check my wiring. Other than that it all seems to work well.
sorry i forgot to add that part, v2 will be up soon, if you're comfortable with changing it please do so
Not a problem. I thought I would put that out there incant someone else was having problems.

What is more unfortunate is that Pioneer's home audio gear is not all that great. IMHO it all sounds horrible.

No 3.0 for me. The system would hang on the splash screen. I tried 3 times to no avail. It seemed that WinCE was not updating even though I re-copied the files.

i added the said .bmp file to the Image.Res file and the pic ended up being a background for the navi menus. Pioneer may have just coded out the usage of a background on the Top Menu.
