  1. I have tried updating my 7010BT, same as 700BT, with 3.0 and the WinCE update and i have not been sucessful either. The unit hangs on the splash screen. My system info reads 5.0 as well. When I did the WinCE update I got a checksum but the screen said that the update went fine. Is the checksum something bad like an error or it is supposed to say that?

  2. So I will ask nicely[as to not be a butthole] does anyone have/ want to share what their custom background looks like on the unit?? Thanks in advance.

Sorry if i made anyone mad earlier.

Considering how the nicer folks of this forum have not yet answered this I venture that there it is not possible. Unless the more knowledgable members are willing to enlight us.

  3. I have looked through Image.res and Data.zip for any files with the correct dimensions but it seems that nothing matches and works. Perhaps with the 2.0 upgrade they eliminated the code for a background picture.

    crilleym and ill.die.trying,

It is great you contributed to this thread and tried to help fellow members of the board. Guga's thread only indicates how to change the icons on the main menu and not the background picture. I read through the whole thread from beginning to the end and saw nothing pertaining to what file correlates to the background for the main menu. If it is mentioned there then I think those of us that were asking about this would appreciate a mere reference and not any snide comments. I understand people get sick of noobs asking dumb questions but when there is no definite answer to the question at hand then someone has to ask it. Funny enough, people react to positively to positive remarks. Try that next time someone asks something you know the answer to.

  4. If you are talking about the startup logo, it is in the manual on how to change it. READ the hacks threads. That is all I am gonna say. If you can't figure it out then leave it alone.

Read the thread and you will see that this has nothing to do with the splash screen. Did you even read the thread subject? It says MENU BACKGROUND. I don't know how you confuse that with splash screen. READ the thread. That is all I am going to say. If you can't read, don't comment.

Read this and stop bugging people on how to do things when it is there in black and white.

Wow thanks jerk off!! That is really UNHELPFUL! It actually is not there black and white and it seems that you had to look up the guys post by his name in order to find it so it seems pretty outragous to expect others to automatically know what to search. Instead of being the jerk you have been so far all you had/have to do is make a constructive contribution to this thread and then later when someone else who is wondering the same thing as the rest of us all they have to search is "menu background" and not "GUGA" to find a convoluted answer.

  6. Uh, no they don't. They show a pic of what would be the background pic but not the unit working with the pic as a background. They also do not have anything to show you how to use the pic as a background.

    You didn't look hard enough.

What? You need to be more specific. Are you talking about instructions or the pics?

  7. will someone post a picture of what it looks like with a custom background?

There is a whole thread with lots of pics here.

  8. Good luck on getting one and expect to do some hunting. For some reason Pioneer has evidently stopped making the GEX-P920XM at least temporarily and they are hard to find. Most online dealers including Pioneer are currently out of stock. I lucked out Friday and managed to get one of only three that Best Buy had listed in the entire Atlanta area.

There is always ebay, which is where I got mine.

  9. Hello, I am new to site and thank you for all the helpful info.

I am looking into getting either the 90bt or the new 910BT. I am pretty simple when it comes to the functions that i need. BLuetooth, DVD, Sirius, and Ipod. If you were me would you just wait for the 910BT or get the 90BT now as they would serve the same purpose?

Im kind of wondering the same thing. if the F90 is going to be the same as the X after the 3.0 then I might as well get the F90 now and wait for 3.0.

The only thing is the 3.0update is going to cost around 130 and I don't know if the X's price will be hiked 130$ more than the F's current $600 cost.

If it is then its equal so either way is fine, but if it ends up that the X costs the same as the F does now but including the 3.0 then i'll have wasted the money on an update for no reason.

Still waiting to see if anyone knows anything about the prices that will come out. A shop is going to check out my audio system tomorow, and i'll have to make the decision probably tomorrow night.

X models are likely to be sold much higher than current market price of F, which is low because of the rebate Pioneer was running as well as close-out specials both Pioneer and dealers were making. remains to be seen just what the X will be sold at, but I wouldn't count on big deals out of the gate.

crutchfield has the new pio units up for preorder

  10. That's too bad. I hadn't thought about that.

There are several hackers out there who are eagerly anticipating the 3.0 files to see how that one will bypass the lock-out in 2.007, so I am sure somebody will come up with a way to enter WinCE even with 3.0

I hope so. I'm not getting 3.0 if there is no WinCE access.

  11. Now that we know we have to buy this, where are we supposed to get it? It does not seem like Pioneer has it available directly through them so are we going to have to get it via dealer networks? I think someone needs to get a hold of this and find out what kind or room we have with modding and what exactly has gotten better. It would suck if testmode, ie mods, are no more with 3.0

  12. Hello all. I just finished installing the F700BT and have a problem getting to the mute options in the "AV settings". I did dpdurst's mod which had the software mod for the navigation bypass. The mute wire is not hooked up to anything, I have it wrapped around the AV preouts and inputs. Is this supposed to be hooked up to something to gain the ability to select how I want the unit to do its muting? I want to disable the muting but the button to do it is greyed out. I was going to try a search but wasn't sure what parameters to use. Thanks.

  13. Thanks dpburst. I fixed it and it was the parking brake lead. I have another question for you. After installing the unit and all, I noticed that I no longer have the option to change the mute settings for when the navigation kicks in ie change the unit to go from full mute, to att, to disable in the "AV settings" sections. The button is greyed out. Is this part of your mod? I ask cause I want to disable to mute. Thanks.

Nope not part of my mod. My mode only changes how the main navigate screen looks/operates and nothing more than that

Thanks. I will post in the troubleshooting section. Oh and by the way, your mod looks awesome. I am loving it. :D
