Well here is a graphics updated that I am putting on this thread with Diaftia's permission. This started as just a change to the speedo only screen but after flipping through my own damn quick menu so many times i was getting really annoyed with the tiny buttons. So I made this version which turned out to be a lot easier to write the code for because it uses the same images and locations for both nav screens and non nav screens. Plus I even have room to expand it, for future screens. All and all I think it is a real improvement. and the way I labeled it and organized it I think it will be real easy for other people to make skins for it. SO have at it, and don't forget to post any changes you make.

 

I am sure some people will be upset because I changed the compass back to the small one I liked, plus the compass is fairly small on the speedo screen, so feel free to make any changes you want.

 

Changes

-- Elevation the same on nav and non-nav screens.

-- Moved and adjusted stop nav and mute on nav screens.

-- Complete overhaul of quick menu for fat fingers like mine.

-- Complete overhaul of Speedo only screen.

 

After using it for a while I think I will add a quick menu button to the speedo screen as well. No reason not too.

You can turn the screen off if you use cmh's and some other mods. Look at my pic here.

My aim is to find a way to get it on the media page. I think I may have a few ideas, I will keep everybody posted.

First, I would like to be able to turn my screen off without having to navigate into settings all the time, mostly while listening to my iPod. Can anybody think of a way to add this command to the media screen and iPod screen, say maybe in the top bar?

 

Second, this may be a setting that I;m missing, but on recent calls, is there a way so that the most recent calls are listed at the top of the list, rather than the bottom. I know that the bluetooth is based off of parrot, but there most be some ways to change the interface, any ideas where these files are kept?

Here is what I'm thinking.

I know that we can change the Interface a little bit, I have modified by images. I know that in some variations of cocoa programming you can route images to preform functions, I'm thinking that there may be a way to do this in other programming languages. I'm still looking though the system files, but I'm having trouble locating the files. I come close, but I reach a dead end. Has anybody else tried this.

But good god, why did they not put a button to turn the screen off on the front of the unit!?!?!

I Found a perfect way to get it to work. I'm using an application called "Better Zip" http://macitbetter.com/ and it makes it work perfect.

Has anybody else had any trouble installing modified files from a mac onto a AVIC900BT?

I'm running the dev release of Snow Leopard and found that whenever a mod a file on my mac it does not work. I can listen to music, but my screen will just keep saying that the system is starting up and then eventually will restart. Any ideas?
