  1. If you do not want to hear "Route Recalculation", but want to retain the vocal directions the following has worked for the past few days without any negative affects on anything else:

    1. unzip the zipped voice file you use, in ALP2/IGO/Content/VOICE
    2. Open the ‘info.ini’ file
    3. Find the entry:

recalulate="Route recalculation." [THE BAD SPELLING IS HOW IT IS]

      and replace with:

      ;recalulate="Route recalculation."
      "recalulate=""
    4. Re-zip the entire voice file and copy to ALP2/IGO/Content/VOICE

  2. I want to change the 'info.ini' file that is within the zipped UK TTS voice file.

I have extracted the file, changed it and saved it in the CONTENT sub folder as an unzipped file. This is because when I first started modding my AVIC I was advised on this forum that this was an easier way, because if it doesn't work you can just delete the inserted file.

I am confident that my edit would work, but it didn't! I am wondering whether that is because there are a number of 'info.ini' files within the various voice files,so I will need to put my edited file within the zipped voice file.

Any help from experienced modders would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. Has anyone loaded the FTR truck files on to their AVIC?

I understand that, in theory, if these are loaded into the map folder and you select truck mode unsuitable roads are 'blocked' from use.

I have read on other IGO sites that UK Teleatlas files are not very good but Navteq ones are.

I am interested in using this when towing my caravan.

  4. I am having irregular problems with my F900BT as it often reboots when I press the OK button on the nag screen.

I have been researching the use of Carver's mod to remove the nag screen and as a result have discovered that I have the file 'commonlib.dll' in both the APL and APL3 folders.

I am wondering whether I have found the cause of my problem, but would appreciate comments from any other forum members as to whether their file system has that file duplicated in APL3.

I am running the Diaftia mod using version 8.3.2.

    Thanks

  5. Thanks Boris, as I said I really do not know what I am talking about.

However, I think the point is still relevant. Would it not be a good idea if members posted to confirm that they have the appropriate IGO (not Pioneer) licence for the indicated map if they were prepared to share it?

  6. Although I think I know a little about how the AVIC works, I confess to complete ignorance about the licensing of map. A view confirmed by my current inability to get 2011Q4 Navteq or Tomtom (TeleAtlas) maps to work on my UK F900BT despite having scanned the forum for help.

Mind you not knowing what I am looking for doesn’t help.

As I understand it, Pioneer provides a licence to run the Pioneer provided maps in a particular area.

However to run other maps you need:

    • a generic IGO worldwide licence
    • a Pioneer licence specific to the maps that you want to us
    • an alternative ezrider.exe, which I assume would be appropriate to the alternative map.

Would it be a good idea if forum members, in various parts of the world, who have these files, know that they work, and are prepared to share them would simply respond to this post:

    Europe – Navteq 2011Q3

    Or North America - TomTom(TeleAtlas) 2012Q1

Members who need the relevant files could simply search the post for what they need, and then PM members who have them.

If members, whose first language is not English, could translate this into their first language, this would ensure maximum coverage and response.

  7. As posted elsewhere on this forum I am struggling to load up-to-date Navteq UK and France maps. I already have an ammended EXRIDER file and have tried these license files but no luck as I guess they may be specific to North America. Does anyone have similar files that they could post for Europe?

    Thanks

  8. I have used TeleAtlas maps in the past but am struggling to get the latest UK and France updates. However, I have downloaded the latest Navteq UK and France maps and put them in the map_nt folder together with a basemap.

When I go to the map change utility it shows that I am changing to SENSIS which I believe is an australian map but that shouldn't matter. However, when I do this and reboot, the system says that it is still using my older TelAtlas maps.

What I am doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

  9. I find the basic Pioneer map colours very insipid. I therefore want to change them especially in 3d mode.

I have changed the various colours in 'color.ini' and '3dcolor.ini' without any great effect. Do I need to change anything else to achieve map colour changes or is it that the changes that I have made to the two ini files are not great enough?

    Thanks

  10. I have installed Diaftia's mod and very good it is.

I now want to take advantage of the advanced cameras option.

I have my speed camera's from the Pioneer's partner which is a spb file that is loaded successfully by my F900. However if I now want to load my advanced cameras this can either be a txt or spud file and my concern is that loading those subsequently will automatically clear the original speed cameras. If I am right does anyone now how to combine a spd file with a txt or spud file? Alternatively does anyone know how to convert a spd file to a txt or spud file.

    Thanks

  11. I know little about RAR files; hence my question!

I am having the crc error described here. However one of the two files is the Italy map which I don't need. Can I simply not extract that file. Similarly I have a data error with a vf-clare file, but here I have access to another copy elsewhere. Can I again not extract that file and use the good copy that I have.

My question is therefore are the errors described above only relevant to the affected files or does it mean that the entire rar file is suspect?

    Thanks

  12. Hi Colin,

Read the pioneer instructions carefully. These will not enable you to upgrade to V.3.

You can either do the method outlined on this site, which is a lot easier than it sounds. Or you can shell out £130 for the official update which will include the latest maps and every other firmware update.

If I use the official Pioneer SD card do you, or anyone else, know whether the mods made previously will interfere with the Pioneer upgrade.

    Thanks

    Colin
