1. Hey guys I need help

I moved the mute wire one position and ground it with the PB and ground

It works fine until I hit the 20mph mark, than I get this message " it is strictly prohibited to view the video while driving"

how do I solve this problem??

Make sure you have a good ground! I had the same issue and I had to re-do the wires a few times to get it right.

  2.

Illumination wires for Chevy's
2006 - Gray in stereo harness

    If not available

Parking Lights + Brown + @ Harness going to rear of vehicle

Unfortunately the parking light reference above is for a 05 vette, couldn't find anything for 06.
Thanks, will check this weekend. 05 and 06 should be same in this regard.
Where you ever able to figure out how to find the illumination wire?

I am having the exact same problem and no one anywhere has come up with a solution.
  3. OK,

I really need some help now. I just got the second interface in and no illumination!

I called and just found out that my 2005 Chevy 1500 Silverado does not send out a Illumination signal through the wiring harnis.

    I have two options.

    1) I can buy the PAC Audio interface for $169 (Which is outrageous)

    OF

    2) Find a wire behind the dash that pushes out 12v when the lights come on.

Please tell me where I might find a details Chevy wiring diagram?

    Anyone :(

    HELP!

  4. Anyone know where I can buy one of these Parrot mics?

Which Parrot mic are you looking for? The basic one that they include with their lower-end models is also sold by Garmin for use with their GPS units. I bought one of those at Fry's Electronics for $12.00 or so. It works great and looks much better than the stock microphone.

Do you have a model number?

  5. I finally dug into my dash this weekend and tested the 12v wire against the illumination wire on the head unit and BAM it DIMS! I called Crutchfield and they are sending me a new interface to fix the issue. So in other words the head unit works fine.

    Thanks!

    interface??

    what application?

crutchfield has some of the best tech/customer support available!!

as a shop if i am ever pitted against online prices i will match only crutchfield (if i need to, I would order from them..lol)

cant beat free install hardware for most applications...

the interface I am talking about is the "Wiring harness" with the interface that translates why my vehicle data is sending.

  6. Sure you can, it is really easy if Onstar uses like a 1/8th in jack. You can just get a splitter at Radioshack. Or you can just split the hot and ground wires yourself. Run one set to Onstar and another set to the AVIC.

Have you actualy done this yourself Retell ? the reason I ask is that these are Electret Condenser Mics and have a voltage up the centre conductor to power the Mic electronics, connecting the two units together without some kind of DC decoupling on one of them could damage one or both units.

Thanks Brian for your comment. I almost tried it. Has anyone figured out any way to tap in?

  7. Thanks. Looks awfule "authentic" to me. It was $83 so if it craps out i"ll get a new one. Would be shocked if this one was not "authentic"...

That is cool... I am just shocked you got one already since they didn't send out their first shipment until today.

  8. I ordered the MSN Direct piece for the Z110BT from Beach Audio. They had 12 in stock. It shipped yesterday to me.

Be careful getting it through BeachAudio. They are not an authorized dealer. If you get it through them Pioneer will not help with any warranty issues.

Pioneer told me that they just shipped the first shipment today to authorized dealers. If BeachAudio has some they said they are not "Authentic" Pioneer equipment..

Here the list of authorized dealers, anyone else voids the warranty. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... e+Internet

Here is their official statement to back up what I am saying. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... et+Dealers

  9. I just wanted to throw this out there.

I am looking for a solution on how to manage my contact addresses on my AVIC. I found that with a SD card and AVIC FEEDS I can keep all of them on my OPI or favorites.

My problem is that in MS Outlook if you export contacts to a CSV it has a first name last name and company. On AVIC FEEDS it only has Name. Also the address field is in many pieces in Outlook.

Anyone find a utility that will merge this all together? I am hoping someone has.

This woudl make it all I have to do is update my SD card every once and a while with my new contacts. Then I would have all of my address with me on my NAV.
