  1. Hey Guys,

Ok, I made the mistake of loading hackmode 2.21 over top of 2.2 :(

After that, I can only get the popular error "there is no applicable program" etc.

That said, I've seen many of you have fixed this by a PRG.FLG and putting this in the /USER/ directory.

This did not work for me.

Hackmode was working perfectly before on 2.2. I'm pretty sure the script in 2.21 did something.

Is there any way I can resolve this?

I have tried looking at the PRG0 and PRG1 folders and there are plenty of files there. The script calls to rename Av.exe to Av1.exe in both the PRG0 and PRG01 folders, but I do not have Av1.exe anywhere, only the Av.exe.

Hopefully someone that is a bit more experience can tell me what the script did to my already hacked unit that was sitting at version 2.2, and suggest a way to revert it.

I can access testmode without any problems :(

If it helps, my stock unit was an Avic-z130bt but back in September I upgraded the maps to the newest version as per tutorials here.

RonS said in a simular thread of the PRG.FLG fix doesn't work, try to reload the directories by using CNSD-110FM. I'm not sure exactly where to start with that. Isn't that maps for the f-series?

  2. Forget hackmode, you only need super testmode to fix your unit. Put the supertestmode.key file on your sd card and also create an empty file called PRG.FLG, put it on your sd card too. Boot into testmode and copy the blank PRG.FLG file to USER\PRG.FLG

Just tried this fix, and it did not work for me :(

I do have Supertestmode access though.

Got off the phone with Pioneer and to get them to reinstall the software on the device we are looking at $90, plus a trip to the US (I'm up in Canada). Hopefully someone can chime in and help me out here :)

  3. crap, I made the mistake of running the new 2.21 hack over what had previously been running 2.2 and I am not getting the application error that many of you have here.

I have entered testmode and copied over PRG.FLG to the /USER/ directory and I see all the system files, but it still will not work. I must be missing something.

Is there any way I can go back to stock for now from the testmode area?

  4. Hey guys!

Long time member here and it's great to see the forums still thriving.

That said, I have a z130bt and im lookin to try out some hacking. Was going to look at condis hack and I wanted to update to the newer maps.

In order to limit the chance of screwing something up, is there a way to back up my u it so I can reverse anything if I make a mistake?

Some of the threads all over are a bit confusing linking to other threads and stuff so I just want to make sure I'm going in the right direction.

Specifically, I'm looking to update maps and then fix the xm logos (which I believe I can do through the file manager?)

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get rolling?

    Thanks!

  5. I'd be very surprised if Pioneer makes a cable for this. Most likely they won't, not for the current generation of Avics out there anyways.

Haven't you guys seen the breakdown on the cable?

It uses apples authentication chip inside of it, meaning 3rd party cables, as of now, are non-existant. My guyss would be if Pioneer did find a way to get it to work, they would be breaking some sort of law..

Read the link for more info guys. This won't be an easy feat for any manufacturor unless Apple wants it to be, and we all know how slow Pioneer is to get on anything...

    http://appleinsider...._reversible_use

With all the buzz around the Android phones, and droids near hitting the 2ghz mark and gaining market share...we may see Pioneer focus more on android support rather than iOS.

I'm disappointed I got the i5. Perhaps I should have jumped ship when I had the chance!

Apple appears to be the next RIM.

This thread should be locked until something is firm tho!

  6. I got pandora working fine up here in Canada via VPN. Works well. I used to use a paid service that cost less than $5 a month, but I was paying for XM radio so I just use that instead for howard stern.

Just thought Id through it out there that Pandora DOES work here in Toronto

  7. Yes, I've tried all combinations with the high pass filter as you mentioned with no success. I'm going to try a factory reset and will let you know.

Thanks so much for the assistance!

Ps- it DOES seem as if the sub is running off the rear channels, however in the setup I have rear set to FULL and not SUB W.

  8. Hey guys,

I have a sub hooked up to an amp using the dedicated sub preouts on the back of the Avic. Been working great for years on my old avic.

But today, on the newer avic, while trying to adjust the sub volume I noticed sub controls arent working. When I try to turn the sub off, the headunit shows its off but the sub keeps going to the music. I also cant adjust the volume of the sub, +6 to -24 all sound the same with nothing changing.

I checked the AV settings and the Rears are set to FULL (as they should be). Not sure what is going on here.

Anyone know if there is a hidden menu I'm missing or is there something wrong with my headunit?

I'm finding one thing after another I'm not too sure about. I think I should have stuck with my z3!

  9. I was looking into making a delay circuit to prevent our Avics from rebooting during cranking when you start your car when I came across what looks like could be a good solution.

This option could allow adjustable shut down delay.

    What do you think?

    http://www.sailorssolutions.com/index.asp?page=ProductDetails&Item=EK01

    Good option?

With this mod you wouldnt have to pull from your ignition wire as the power being provided to your deck would simply come from the 12v constant you already have hooked up to your radio. Basically the 12v acc wire would be used as a switch for the delay.

  10. I found it quite annoying that the system would reboot every time I needed to start my truck.

All you need to do is add a fused 12 volt wire from your "True Ignition" circuit from you ignition harness WITH a diode, right into the red switched wire on the head unit. Have the band of the diode going towards the head unit - VELLA !!

The diode blocks the 12 volts from feeding back into the Ignitoin circuit, when you have your key in the Accessory posistion. You should be able to find them at Radio Shack of maybe a car audio shop will give you one!

True Igniton = 12 volts does not drop out during the start cycle.

I'm gunna give this mod a try :) thanks for posting this thread!

That said, what diode did you use? How many amps does it put through?

  11. 1 dollar Canadian is currently 1.05 dollar US just because I can't tell if your joking about the noticeable strength of the Canadian dollar to the US dollar.

I wasn't really making a joke, I was simply saying for Canadians wishing to make purchases in the USA, now is the time to do it :)

On large ticket items the current exchange alongside the much lower tax rates make it extremely worth while...nearly 25% cheaper then what it would cost to purchase retail north of the border!

  12. Yeah, and the lady's voice is awkward and real robot-like. And She says "Mobeel Phone" instead of Mobile Phone.

My only other issue is scrolling up and down through a list. It will often select it when I swipe the screen. Maybe I need to learn the right touch technique or spot to touch. Like a woman. Lol.

lol, she really does sound like a robot and doesnt know how to pronounce Mobile!

But, I've had good luck with the voice commands, and she pronounces my girlfriends name perfectly and her last name is Davidovich lol...most of my friends don't even do that!

  13. Download aha radio app on yur iPhone. Plug in iPhone to radio. Then on the bottom of the avic screen press the app button. The z130bt should now show video and audio.

Hmm, interesting. I have the AHA app installed and AHA works fine, but I'm still not sure how to play videos sitting in my ipod playlists.

The netflix video you posted is great though, can I run videos through youtube app the same way?

EDIT: I just found a video on youtube regarding APP mode, I didnt even know there was such a thing...will that work as well?

  14. Hey guys,

I just got my z130 set up and working good with my iPhone using the official pioneer adapter (not a cheap eBay one)

It's supposed to be able to play video I think, anyone know how I do that? If I open videos from the iPod app I just hear audio.

I know I can use aux input on video2 but I'd like to be able to watch videos controlled by the head unit if possible?

  15. I upgraded my z3 to the 130bt and am happy with it, but it's probably not worth the upgrade. The ipod controls are much, much better however. It's still never going to sort through thousands of songs as fast as the ipod itself though and you will never find a head unit that will...but the 130 is definitely better in that regards.

That said, i like the navigation on the z3 much better and a lot of the features I miss (the hard drive cd library etc).

BUT! There is one huge fix on the 130, and that is that the BLUETOOTH actually works and sounds great!

If I were you, I would get the AV cable from the apple store for 40 bucks and use AV input on your headunit. That way, you can watch all your movies, youtube, and have all your music. You will have to control tracks from your iphone though...but if you have that cable the iphone will be much more enjoyable than it would be even on the upgraded 130
