Will the bluetooth problems not be resolved by a software upgrade?

 

If the z110 was so problematic, how about the z130?  

 

I just purchased a refurb z130 over the z140 because (a) it was cheaper, and ( it has voice control features that were taken away in the z140 (and I assume z150 as well).  Otherwise it's supposedly the same unit.  I also believe I am eligible to upgrade my z130 from 3.001 to 4.010, but if I were to lose the voice control features then I won't do it. 

 

So I am content with the z130 until Pioneer produces a new model that has full CAN-Bus handling built in and/or removes the USB/SD 2500 file limit.

Will the bluetooth problems not be resolved by a software upgrade?

dont think there is much difference between 110 and 130.

I have z110BT installed in my car. Pretty content with it except for well-known voice issues. I am considering upgrading it now as I believe bluetooth voice issues have been resolved. I would like to know if z150 has any significant advantages over now discounted Z140. I would love to hear some info on for  screen brightness , android compatibility and bluetooth voice quality. I can barely see z110 screen during the day partly because it is retrofit and doesnt sit in an optimal position

the only problem is that this installer just replaced the the radio . the wiring was done by previous installer who installed 90 bt.

had z110bt installed today on my truck . i had 90bt installed previously. reverse camera never worked properly. i was told the reverse camera didnt work with that model that well. so this was one of the main reasons i upgraded.

camera doesnt work when in reverse with the settings...camera on and polarity- battery.

when i change polarity to ground , all i see the the camera all the time.

I went back to the installer. he said it is the vehicle issue and suggested creating a relay.

any suggestions?

Some where in this forum I read that power and antenna need to be redone also. I guess there might be performance issue if not replaced. Is that true?

I had F90BT installed a few months ago....i didnt like the slow startup and the rearview camera didnt work smoothly..it would get cut off by screen saver.

with current deals on Z110BT, it was hard to resist. I have steering wheel control, rea rview camera and HD radio set up with 90BT. How much rewiring do I need to do with Z110

I am getting the reboot problems again. it seems the rebooting is associated with activating spoken warning. rebooting disappeared when i disabled spoken warning and then it started rebooting again when i enabled it!

just want to report that i reinstalled this mod after loading my backup and am not having any rebooting problems that i had reported last week.

dont know if i had meessed up during installation!

how does route selection work. i am talking about scenic/fast etc. ,....

I had one other person have a problem with reboots. They felt it was because of past mods that they had. When they used a different mod pack it would start to do the same thing. They restored from backup and copied my mods over fresh and were good to go. That is the best place to start with rebooting problems. There have been none reported. As a matter of fact I have had a couple people tell me they had problems and my mods fixed them.

thanks...i did find it in wiki...it was pretty straighforward.

installer is a nice person...he said he will take a look.

there is a complete list of what to do to back up your files in the stickies at the top of the mods page

 

i would say that the problem with the "check back up lights" would be with where they tapped the reverse wire in to one of your wires for the back up lights, and may somthing to do with the screen cutting off, they may have tapped into it poorly OR they may need to just put a diod in line to eliminate any back feeding.

can someone tell me how to back up my current files on f90bt....before i start working on some mods.

rearview camera works fine when i select it from AV source.

I had f90bt, HD radio, PAC-swi and boyo back up camera installed by an experienced auto electronics shop recommended by BMW dealership. I have noticed following issues after the install. I am not sure if these issues are due to poor installation or due to imperfect technology that i will have to live with. here we go:

- back up camera screen disappears when i have reverse engaged intermittently

- not able to change the call sound volume throught steering wheel controls. i can change the volume of the radio.

following issue seem related to incorrect installation:

- check "back up light " warning in the dash

i noticed that gps doesnt have TTS....it does not give street names. i was surprised to see that... even $100 gps' have tts now.

I am getting F90BT ( with boyo camera. HD radio and PAC-SW1) installed on my 05 X5. Is there anything i should be careful with? Any tips /tricks?

Can someone post what files and folders are in testmoe 2.3. I am getting different # of files with different archive utilities. OP says the size should be arounf 1.5 MB..maximum I got was around 900 kb.

also is this just a firmware upgrade or it includes maps also?

I just ordered p10 for f90bt not realizing p20 was already available. Should i get p20 instead. is there any significant difference between the two? after going through this thread it seems that the consensus is that there isnt much. I am getting my f90bt installed in a week or so..i would rather put a P20 if it better than p10

I have a boyo and it works great. You can view the camera even when not reversing. The wiring is straightforward as you only need to connect the power and the reverse wire to the headunit and you're good to go.

Can USB in F90BT be connected to an external harddrive. If yes, how large a drive can it support . Does the drive enclosure need its own power?
