what kind of car do u have?
I have an odd problem with my X910 and the 3gs. Everything seems to work fine BUT the phonebook will not automatically import. i will have to manually import all the numbers. Then when you disconnect the phone or turn the car off it will loose all the settings. Anything i should look into?Tom

I think we've found the one instance where a Mac doesn't excel

Hi guys, I'm having an issue with my X910BT, which from my understanding is an updated F900.
I have an '06 Passat, with the PAC interface. Everything works, except sound If I crank the volume to max, I get a faint sound. Even if I hook up a speaker directly to the head unit's RCA output.
-
So I got a new unit, same issue.
Anyone have any ideas?
-
Are there any differences?
-
I assume you've installed it in the 06 passat, right? If you used a harness w/ rca plugs then chances are all the negative speaker wires are tied together. This will cause a problem w/ the output. You need either a PAC C2RVW or Metra XSVI9003-NAV. These will have regular speaker wires for non-amplified (or in your case more likely, Monsoon system). Should fix the problem.
I used the PAC harness. I shipped the unit back for a new one, let's see if the issue is fixed.
I tried plugging in a speaker directly to the rca outputs from the head unit and had the same sound issue.

Negative! MSN direct is built into the unit. It uses the existing FM antenna. No splitter is required.
You're right I don't think I was clear.
If using an HD unit, the antenna must be connected to it. In order to use MSN DIrect, an antenna must also be connected to the Head Unit, therefore the need for the splitter.
-
I have an X, but read that you need the splitter for MSN Direct.
-
So I took a multimeter to my radio yesterday, there doesn't seem to be any resistance being output.
Could the issue be the unit itself?
-
Has anyone else noticed the unit is a little slow after the update?
The response is delayed. Is there a way to fix this? Or go back to 3.0?
-
I think I found out why.
I cut out the RCA plugs to splice the cables. I think I should've just gotten RCA adapters.
Does anyone know the model for the speaker harness?

WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!! That is so wrong. If connecting the wire per the instruction, meaning no bypass, it needs to be connected to your parking brake wire on your car. If doing the hardware bypass, you must relocate the mute wire to the location stated in the bypass instructions and ground that wire and the green parking brake wire on the unit. Anything else will cause the bypass to fail. People read the bypass instructions that are stickied, its not that hard.
Unload that S&W and relax...It's just a wire, not the Apocalypse.
I had the 5-minute reboot issue. At the time I had the "MUTE" and brake wires grounded. When I called Pioneer support, the tech told me (while laughing) that for my brake bypass to work, the brake wire needs +12v.
-
I had the same issue and used a Mac.
Did the testmode stuff and revived it. Called Pioneer support and they stated they had never heard of the Mac issue but would let their techs know.
-
for my x910bt, I just clipped the parking wire to the ACC wire. When I called Pioneer support they told me it needed +12v

Unless I have the volume at 62, I don't get any sound at all, and then I get a very faint output.
Any ideas?

my issue is no sound comes through unless i put the volume at 62, at which point I hear a very faint sound.

The reason I'm asking, is some users have reported having to cross wires in order for things to work properly. I believe it's the yellow and the red.
