Resolved..kinda stupid really. Called pioneer tech support (very pleasant) Told me to check settings (nav - visual)
and sure enough, had display set for speed limit, not speed. Changed it, works perfectly.
Thanks for inputs, and thanks to pioneer

you're right. I looked in settings, and there was my speed. My prob is on the map, little box on bottom right, has time, dist and speed, but speed always reads zero (0!) with the exclamation point
-
nope, the 700bt does not have a speed sensor
-
wheres the hack for a dedicated speed readout?
thanks
-
could it be
a. bad cable from ipod (try another cable)
b. bad output from ipod (either try another ipod, or ipod to another device)
c. (the worst if the other 2 don't tell you whats wrong)..a bad input on head unit

Avic 700BT
My gps speed display on the map always reads 0mph, with an ! after it.
GPS works fine as far as directions, and map location is right on. Also when I go over the speed limit the little voice reminds me I am exceeding the speed limit, so it seems to know my speed, just won't display it.
Any at all have an idea how to correct this? thanks

First let me say I know nothing about code, and would not even try due to fear of wreaking destruction
Second..I have used some mods here that much more skilled coders have created, with success
Finally...%$#@% sirius with its 'preset 1' 'preset 2'..how difficult would it be to adjust what it says, even if I hust have to go in and type them in. Can someone tell me if its possible
thanks

thank you, think I will upgrade

I f I upgrade to ver 3 can I
1. still use the testmode files I used to edit data.zip for software bypass
2. still use the avic phone book editor I found here
http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... is#p152569
thanks

I discovered I have to actually turn on input for back up cam in head unit...did and it works fine. But still don't understand why no power past 'fuse', even tho everything works as it should

Frustrated...
Installed avicf700bt, no prob..except backup camera does not work
Heres what i have done so far...hooked camera into av2 source, and get great picture, so camera is OK, so plug back into back up camera connector
Checked voltage in violet-white wire to reverse light...good on far side of resistor in wire, no current on other side of resistor..(is there supposed to be)..do I have a bad wire? don't want to just bypass resistor, seems like a bad idea from the manual. Am I missing something? SHould I replace resistor, if so with what?
thanks

recently updated firmware on f700bt to 4.0, now have problems with some functions that worked fine on old firmware. Is it possible to roll back to prior version?
thanks
