  1. Sorry to resurrect a thread "declared dead", but I would like to point out some recent events..

The iPhone 4S can be downgraded to iOS 6.1.3 now (as long as you aren't on iOS 9.1), so all those out there (like me) who have some old iPhones hidden away in drawers might consider giving them a new purpose.

I would like to know if anybody still has the appradio 2.30 ipa file?

after all, appEx for iOS 6 worked amazingly!

  2. Hi there!

Currently I'm using the iPhone 4S with the Pioneer AHV-8400BT, but the phone is getting a bit outdated.

Planning on buying another phone, and chances are this one (officially) won't be appradio compatible.

Will get a new (company) car soon, so this unit will most likely be moved into storage for a future car.
Yet, to make it a bit more useful when the time comes, I'm planning on buying a seperate GPS unit.

The original one from Pioneer (Currently the AVIC-F260 is available) will cost a small fortune (550€/685$)

So I went and looked for another (cheaper) solution.

Also because I believe it's a bit more interesting to have Garmin/Tomtom/Igo installed, compared to Pioneer's AVIC maps.

Not only because the maps are cheaper, but especially because they get updated more frequently.

Anyone experience with these chinese Windows CE 6.0 or Android GPS units?

Have found a few on aliexpress, but guess they will be available on other sites (ebay for example) too.

  3. Yellow: +12V Continuous (battery)
    Red: 12V Switched (ignition)
    Black: -12V Ground

    Then it should work properly
What you can do, is link the Yellow & Red wire (Pioneer cables are from factory prepared for it).
So: Yellow from battery -> Link with red wire --> Attach to +12V Continous

This way you'll be able to use the radio without the ignition turned on.

However, you will always need to turn off the radio manually, or your battery will get drained.

  4. Hello everyone!

I am trying to figure out how to get subtitles to work with the 8400BT...

on page 78 of the manual, it says the unit is compatible with srt subtitles for divx files.

Yet, I have the avi and srt file in the same folder (same filename, except the extension) and it won't get recognized as a subtitle.

    Any ideas?

they are working properly on my media player at home.

    the audio/video plays without issue.

    e.g.:

    VIDEO\

    2FAST2FURIOUS\

    2fast2furious.avi

    2fast2furious.srt

  5. I have figured out that it won't take the folder.jpg files as albumart from usb/sd card.

if the albumart is embedded in the file, it gets loaded properly.

    as for limitations:

it is clearly written in the manual there is only a limitation on amount of files.

    15.000 files, 700 folders for video, 3.000 folders for music.(see page 78)

  6. Its not that easy as you think and it also take more time than you think..

I did it as soon as I had some time available.

Now, every file/rom I made I checked myself on my AVIC S2 except this one, my AVIC S2 is dead, sent it to repair, so I cant check this rom, and guarantee it works. So if it doesn't please let me know.

Of course you can go to ppath.txt and change direction, takes 1 minutes, but after you turn it off you will have to do it again, with the ROM it won't loose those setting. I explained everything in the first page

have uploaded the rom to my device

    works...PERFECT!!!! THANKS! :D

now I just press my "navigate" button, and garmin loads without a problem!

    hooray! :)

if anyone would like to know how to install garmin mobile XT on the device, let me know :)

1 minor point: sound of voices is rather quiet, but maybe this can be patched too

  7. So in this one you altered the link already?

It should now start up garmin, or am I mistaking?

Yet, I would still like to know how to edit the roms myself.

This because I get frustrated of each time having to run through the setup and change my region and stuff.

Would also be useful to understand the system behind it.

I've studied programming, so I'm not completely retarded when it gets to computers

    Anyway,

if you have any documententation, please share.

    tnx

  8. Sorry, was type-o.

    I have the avic s2.

The reason I wanted to restore it, is because I think the original software works better.

    However,

Yesterday I installed Garmin Mobile XT on the device, and it runs perfectly!

Just still need to change the link, but that's apparently changing a link in sys.txt which I will try in 2 minutes
