    I got the Z100BT today, an upgrade from the X910BT.

     

    I _LOVE_ the Z110BT already but there is one thing I can't seem to find: "Overview mode".

     

    The X910BT has a map "overview mode" that essentially zooms way out an displays the map with north up and overlays the route and your location when there are several miles to the next exit. I came to really like the overview mode (actually it was one of the few things I liked about the 910)

     

    Does the Z110BT not have an overview mode?

    I need to find a spare volume knob for my X910BT as it is going back to the dealer. I had gotten one of the very nicely made larger knobs and I can't seem to find a way to remove it from the OEM knob.

     

    So, does anyone know if CXE1633 is the right part number for a replacement volume knob for the X910BT?

  3. I largely agree. I am experiencing the terrible general slowness, VERY doubtful quality if the MSN direct information and confusing and outright misleading route guidance. Had I known then what I know now, I would not have bought the X910.

     

    Here are the things that frustrates me to no end:

     

    1: Slow The unit is terribly slow in general. This shows mostly during startup where the unit remains so slow that it is near impossible to use the UI for 5 - 10 minutes after start. Answering an incoming call is always an act of faith: The call will come in, the X910 will play the "ringer" in the speaker and after 5 or so seconds display the button to answer the call. Once I have pressed the "answer" button, it is hard to tell if I REALLY hit the button, because the little blue shade painted over the button takes several seconds to appear.

     

    2: Poor integration: The bluetooth phone controls are poorly integrated. Why do I have to take my eyes off the road and look at the screen in order to VERY CAREFULLY place a finger on the "volume up" or "volume down" button while on a call? Why can I not use the "real" volume knob for that?

     

    3: Route guidance: I have several times been routed off the highway by the X910 only to be routed right back on it on the next onramp. This happens regardless of traffic. This is probably the most disappointing issue. I could live with the other annoyances if the most basic function (route guidance) was flawless. It isn't. It's hard to have confidence in a system that makes obvious mistakes like this.     4: UI layout: The UI is too cluttered. It attempts to display too much information at one time. It is, for example, impossible to see what time it is while the unit is showing street signs in the upper portion of the UI. When I am on the iPod or radio screen, the clock is so tiny it is very difficult to see what's displayed.

     

    At this point, I am finding myself using Navigon in my iPhone for navigation and use the X910 as a _VERY_ expensive iPod controller.

    I wonder if anyone else have been experiencing this problem:

     

    I often drive on I-5 between Irvine and CA-55 on my way to see customers. When I have the X910 providing routing as I drive along, I always get routing instructions every 400 feet or so on a particular stretch of I-5. For example:

     

    I merge on to the I-5 northbound from CA-133. The X910 will, of course, tell me to enter the freeway, and that's ok, I expect that. Next, it will tell me "keep right in 400 feet on to I-5 North, Santa Ana freeway" and it will repeat that message every 400 to 500 feet until I reach CA-55 which is a couple of miles further north.

     

    This is exceptionally annoying. Why does it do this? Why not just tell me to stay on I-5 Northbound for so-and-so many miles as it does elsewhere?

  5. Several minutes does seem a bit too long. Do you have anything plugged in?

     

    Yes, I usually have both iPod and BT phone connecting. I realize that the more you ask the device to do (in this case connect to the iPod and Bluetooth) the longer it will take. I guess all I'm trying to say is I wish Pioneer had built the device with a much faster processor.

     

    Regarding the spoken street names: I just got done skimming through the owner's manual and I didn't see any mention of which voice / language will speak the street names duing route guidance. I assume it's the "TTS" voice but I don't see it mentioned in the manual...?

  6. Does the radio / XM / iPod not mute when you receive an incoming call? -It does on mine....

     

    Other than that, I totally agree that it would be super nice to have the master volume control ALL sound, including the nav voice and phone. Some OEM navigation systems do this (I have first hand experience with Audi's Navi systems)

    I recently had my X910Bt installed. In general, I like it a lot but the following irk me on a daily basis:

     

    1: Slowness: When the device first starts up, it is DREADFULLY slow, to the point where it is really hard to, for example, enter a destination address.

     

    2: No spoken street names: My old OEM (GM) GPS Navi would speak most street names. For example: "Turn right on to sepulveda boulevard". So far, I haven't heard the X910Bt do that. Maybe I'm spoiled, but this seems like a glaring omission to me....?? Is there a setting I have missed?

     

    3: Flaky routing: I wonder if the MSN direct data is messing with the routing, but I have experienced twice that the GPS would direct me to exit a freeway, only to send me right back on to the freeway on the same onramp.
