  1. I have been a longtime Pioneer user going back to the AVIC D3 and then a AVIC Z110. So about a year ago. I upgraded to a AVIC NEX 8100. Plus I've been a longtime Apple user. About a week ago my iPhone 6 starting acting up. I took it to the Apple Store and was told it has touchscreen disease. I don't like the iPhone 7. so I upgraded to the Moto Z force.  A pretty nice android. When I used my iPhone 6 with AVIC NEX 8100. I was able to use CarPlay and all the AVIC features. One of the features I use all the time is the AVIC Sync App. I've used it to update my 8100 maps, I've subscripted to updates and the services such as gas and weather. My Moto Z works well and I love Android Auto over CarPlay even through I'm a Apple Fanboy, My major issue is I'm not able to get AVIC SYNC  on my phone to work with my AVIC NEX 8100. When I open the App on the phone and then go to the NEX 8100 Maps and hit the AVIC icon on the top of screen. I see my old iPhone 6. Then I hit the Add a new Phone button. Then it takes to next screen all I get is instructions on using the USB port or the Bluetooth. The USB does work. because as soon as I connect my phone to the AVIC. Android Auto automatically launches. My question Am I doing something wrong? does the AVIC SYNC work with Android ? oh forgot to mention my new Phone has USB -Type C.

  2. Yes.. it's very slow. It took me several attempts to load the update from my iPhone 6 to my NEX8100. My HU kept disassociating my iPhone. Thank goodness it did not start all over. I finally got it to update while I was driving from Miami to NYC. I had to babysit the phone until it finally finished. It took about 5 hours to update from iPhone 6 on a decent LTE network connection.  Like onebyside said USB Stick is the fast way.

  3. I, on the other hand spend my money very wisely and take a lot of time to do research before investing in an expensive product like an in-dash GPS. I'm not made of money, I don't drive a Corvette. I expect my purchases to last me a long time (with full functionality), since I don't have the money to buy a new unit every third year.

    That is my point.

    I totally agree with you.......

  4. I would like to thank everyone for all the informative info. After taking 6 days to get the file from mininova. Extracting this whopping 8gig ISO to a folder, I tried burning the ISO on my IBM Thinkpad t60 with Roxio Easy CD Creator 2010. All I got was errors, I tried Nero and got the same thing. I went to my trusty Mac Pro and tried to use Disk Utility and got the same errors like windows. I finally got it to burn under Apple Roxio TOAST 10. I burned it as image file, it took about 45 minutes and completed without any problems. I used MEMOREX DVD DL 2.4X from Fry's. I hope this helps anyone that's trying to burn this big image. :D

  5. Resolved Issue:

This might fix other users issues, make sure your using iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw. The first time I got FW 2.0 off the internet, this time I got it directly from Itunes 7.7.

Reinstall the firmware, after I reinstall the firmware. I was able to browse the playlist and charge my iTouch on the D3. After, I got it working. I took it to the next step and used Jailbreak 2.01 ( Pwnage tool software). It's now working correctly and charging the Battery.

  6. Good Afternoon

Is anyone else having problems with their Upgraded 2.0 FW iTouch. I upgraded the firmware last night. Everything seems fine. I added several ipod programs to it. This morning when I was going to work, I connected my itouch to my D3. I'm gettig a error code on the D3 screen. Error " code 3". Everything else on my D3 Works. Old White iPod, DVD, Sirius Radio, GPS and radio works. It not the head Unit. The iPod Touch works fine also.

During lunch I downgrade my itouch back to 1.1.4 and re added my Jailbreak software to it and everything seems fine. I would like to continue to use the 2.0 Firmware because of the new itouch features. Does anyone have any ideas, Tips or Tricks.

    Thanks inadvance.

  7. Before, I purchase a D3 for my 2005 Mustang. I had a factory Ford Radio. The radio would go down to 87.7 on the FM dial. Well, Driving through Richmond, VA and Washington D.C. I was able to get local radio plus TV stations. TV Stations Simulcast there TV channel on that Station. I also remember my old VW Fox was able to access 87.7, that was the clears channel to use with my iTrip and iPod. It seems like Pioneer does not use 87.7. But, not true for other radio manufacturers.

  8. Here's my D3 Install for my Stang. The install is very easy. The two hardest things were getting the VSS wire through the firewall. It took me about 45 minutes to find a way. plus getting to the light switch wire in the dash board.

  9. Well, I spoke a rep on the phone. He verify the price, and told me their was a authorized Pioneer Internet dealer. He looked up the price on the internet. I told him I seen the price for 848.78. He told me I would be better off ordering it on the internet from their site.

  10. Just to let you guys know. Electronic Express has it for $848.47 and it's in stock. I just cancel my order from Crutchfield. I puchase the wiring Harness and the F150 Kit. There in Nashville, Tennessee and I'm in Atlanta, GA shipping should not take that long. This is just a heads up. :P
