  1. Where would you guys recommend to get a 8100nex?  I have always used ebay in the past and gotten great deals but I was wondering if i could find one for around $800 from an authorized dealer somewhere?

Also, wheres that place everyone gets there stock harness to pioneer adapters from?  Can't remember its been so long since i installed my X930BT.

    Thanks

  2. Since they are passing a "hands free" law here in NH on July 1st you can longer even have any data capable device in your hand anymore.  When i bought the X910 and X930 i had gotten them off ebay for around $450 each brand new. It seems Pioneer has a lot more models out now such as the App Radio and there standard units.

What you guys recommend? I would like something with Carplay if Pioneer offers it(about to start looking) If not, is the App Radio worth it or should i just stick to there regualar series of NAV systems with ipod functionality?

    Thanks

    *EDIT*

Just looked, they do have carplay which is great, but 11 models to choose from...

  3. God i am an idiot....Had problems with my vehicle since last Friday, so i tried resetting the PCM that night and the x930bt asked for the password.  It has never done this in unplugging the battery, which i have done about 20 times since owning the head unit.  I remember putting in the password and it had to be one of 2 or 3 that i know i would have used for something like this.  4 days later i follow the instructions here and the password was a continuation of one of the short ones i usually use.  I made a 6 digit password which i use for certain pin numbers here and there, The thought crossed my mind while entering seemingly a 100 password into the damn thing but i never would have though i would have put my 6 digit one into it...well that's the one it was.

Anyway...great thread, fixed my issued.  Follow the guide about and from start to finish it took me about 2 minutes.

  4. Pretty sure i am switching over from iOS to WP8 after using the Nokia 1520 for a week now.  I could always keep an ipod in my truck for the x930 but would rather use my 1520 for everything so it's an all in one device for me.  Anyway..is there anyway other than bluetooth to connect directly and control with the X930?  Even if i have to upgrade to the newest unit are any compatible with WP8 yet?

I could put everything on a micro sd card also though couldn't I? I do think i have even tried that music interface out yet for the 930 in the couple years i have had it.  I doubt it looks or works anything like the ipod setup though :(

  5. Have been an iphone user since the day it came out. Have been sick of iOS for a couple years now and a HUGE part of me staying with it is the AVIC series radios i have had over the last few years.  Of course i could just get an ipod and leave it in my vehicle but i'd rather still have it all in my phone.

Is there anyway to have the x930bt read/control the music off an Android phone(Note 2) like it does the Ipod or Iphone?  Is there anything in the future from pioneer coming out with Android support like this?

  6. Why is this mic so hard to find anywhere to buy??

Also, i cant seem to get auto EQ to turn on at all. I plugged in my Denon surround mic figuring it may work. But i can't even turn on auto eq to test it out.

    Any ideas? Thanks

  7. thanks for all the replies...

In the end i sold the iphone after getting the galaxy nexus. I can tell you the bluetooth quality is amazing when streaming google music via it to the x930. I notice no difference in audio quality. However, it sucks that the screen is just blank and you see nothing on it. I think in the future Pioneer may add google music support, it has become very popular over the last few months. Lots of people are going to start streaming there music eventually.

  8. Anyone using a Android phone with any of the X9XX series? After 4yrs i am going to switch away from iphones and go to the Galaxy Nexus when released in a few weeks. What are my options for playing music from the Android phone to the 930Bt?

  9. With the backup cameras on the 930 do you have to wait for the system to boot up completely before it will show the reverse image on the screen? I like to get in and go right away, not sit there for a minute. Would seem like its a waste kinda for that initial pulling out of somewhere after starting the vehicle

  10. After having my 930 for about 6 weeks now i just cant get over the layout of the Ipod setup. It is a major step back IMO from the 910 that i was on before. I cant tell you how many times i have almost gotten in an accident just trying to scroll through artist because its all "scrolling" now. Before you could just hit the down or up arrow and it would take you to the next page of artist listings. When scrolling it is very cumbersome type of system where you actually have to pay attention and actually watch the entire time say if you want to go from "A" to "O" artist.

The same goes for all the other options like where the playlist selection is, everything should be tabbed as it was on the top of the screen before for easy access. You should not have to go through 3-4 different screens to get to where you could before in 1 or 2. I know Pioneer was prevented from using the pin connector for transmitting music so i figured maybe apple went farther and prevented pioneer from "duplicating" what there ipod function looks like(the scroll wheel that is on the actual ipods)

All in all it just seems like Pioneer threw the interface together really quick and did not care, the speed of the system 10x better than the 910, but if i could go back i probably would but its to late for all that now.

On a side note, i know a lot of you don't like the new navigation part of it, I love it, but how in the hell did this unit end up with a ton more missing streets and stuff from the 910 i bought 2yrs ago! I cant believe the amount of missing streets in big cities that should be there hands down..

  11. does not really add much it seems, coffee/hungry updates? wtf? ...aha radio update? meh

I have only had it for a week or so now, but the I am kinda disapointed with my 930 over my previous 910. The speed is 10x better on the 930 but there are just a ton of little interface things that are very disappointing after i upgraded, mainly with the ipod features and layout...

  12. If your current amp is factory/stock then that could very well be your problem right there. On the last 2 vehicles i have owned both wiring diagrams said with the new harness that you could not use the factory 4 channel amp because the fading is controlled by the factory radio, no aftermarket radio can control this on factory amps. So what you have to do is wire the FRONT SPEAKER OUTS from the new car stereo (x930)to the REAR SPEAKER OUTS of the wiring in your vehicle.

  13. Why I think I know the problem , I had the same prob when I installed my 910 a couple years ago. My factory amp can only play two channel audio when not controlled by the factory radio. So I have to hook the fronts to the rear or the rear to the fronts from the deck to my harness. I will swap em tomorrow but I am pretty sure that's what it is since the nav sounds and beeps come from the front speakers, not the back.
