  1. I think you're just saying that for the sake of saying no... Narcolept...suckin Blue's *edited* since May 24th.
  2. F'k you blue. I'm not lost at all, I'm asking for questions as to why instead of listening to your ass. Like I've said before, if we can't ask questions and you have all the answers, then we might as well close the forums. Is there a reason your such an arrogont f'k...you've proven you can be a dick, so why don't you just answer my posts. Between you and your little bitch Narco, I'm sure there will be others who can give answers without being asses.
  3. If you look at the schematic for the AV board in the "f90bt_xs_uc_f900bt_uc_au" service manual (pages 128 and 129, specifically) you'll see the E-Volume device (the audio out selector and volume control device) can only output a single audio source at one time to the Front/Rear Left and Right channels. The possible exception might be the Navi voice output (a mono source on the Left channel with the Right channel grounded) where it may temporarily attenuate/mute the currently selected source. So for technical reasons, there is no apparent multi-zone support based on the F-Series schematics
  4. Honestly, for the price that I got my F90BT, it's perfectly fine for my needs. I've looked around on eBay before I bought this from another X5 owner, and the price difference vs the option differences isn't worth it for me to change it out. Eventually I want to get another in dash in my 740iL, but I have yet to be able to find a double-DIN bezel that will fit that car, leaving me to motorized single-DIN's at this point.
  5. There is the answer I knew you'd say. You just couldn't hold it in, could ya.
  6. I got the F90BT, a bezel for my X5, the PAC controller and everything for $600. As I said, I don't need the option, but I'm not going to complain if someone figures out how to take it from another Pioneer unit and make it work on the F. I didn't need 3.1 either, but it's like a whole new stereo to me now. As for fhe F not being in my interest...I already own it, so what kind of advice is that?
  7. Jesus....I just choked on my milk from your answer! Progress!! So, if it's possible, now hopefully someone will figure out how to make it work on the F series. Not that I need it, but it'd be nice to have the option. Thanks.
  8. Don't be so sensitive, it was an observation, not some direct insult at their mother or something. It's the internet, lighten up. I've said this before, but I'm sure there are plenty of things that people never thought or said couldn't be done to this units, which now the entire hacks/mods subforums is built upon. I understand things have been tried, and while some have failed, that doesn't mean someone isn't going to figure it eventually. I read page after page of how to do the 3.0 hack, all the numerous steps required, people having TONS of problems, etc, then it seems out of nowhere
  9. I'm by no means knowledgeable about hacking, but isn't the FX3.1 that Retell did basically X series software that runs on the F's? If the other Pioneer models as you stated can resume MP3's from where you left off, it seems that all it'll take now is someone to figure out how to get it to function like that on the F. It may be an aging unit, but it does everything I need it to, and I'm sure as time passes more and more hacks from other units will trickle their way down to us.
  10. No updates isn't an answer. VBLUE42 - AVIC411.com NO, NO, NO King.
  11. So not only are you god around here, you're also speaking for the masses by saying everyone? You really think highly of yourself, don't you? If you're bored of answering noob questions, then do like I do...ignore them and let them find out themselves. I've glazed over COUNTLESS expansion tank, MAF, squeek from the right rear, etc threads over the years because I know it's out there...instead of just saying no and expecting them to accept it. If your not going to help others anymore than no and leaving it at that, then why even reply at all...just to flex your ego or authority? I've said i
  12. Who does old thread revivals.... <----THIS GUY!! So diegoapavi, how's that drive working out for you? Still going without issues? I searched on eBay for "1.8 hard drive" and came up with a million adapters and finally started seeing drives in the $10 range. I like that you mentioned that it doesn't require anything extra for power and starts up quicker than an SD card. Is the startup immediate like a CD, radio, etc or still slower than that? Also, at startup does it continue the music/video where it left off at last or does it have the same issue as the SD's and 2.5" external H
  13. I got sent this link, only to have it be a dead end? Hopefully the OP will get an email from the forums saying he got a reply so we can get an update! He hasn't been active since Sep 09, so what are the odds of an admin sending this guy an email directly in case he doesn't get emails from the forums? Until about a week ago, I didn't even have it setup so I'd know people replied to the posts I was on, so maybe that's the case with the OP and why he's never updated this. I've got basically everything minus the cables and a crapped out iPod, which I'd be willing to spend $50-$60 if this in fa
  14. The first (read it before) and third link (still reading) give interesting information, but I have yet to see anyone specifically state about putting music and videos onto the drive in the way that I'm asking. Back to my reading.... EDIT - Damn it, the third link was looking so promising, then it died. You'll be happy I know I replied on that thread, and even explained why...mostly in hopes that the OP sees it's been revived. That thread did clear up the file system thing and why iPod software wouldn't be able to be used on a harddrive since it's actually something on the chip. That st
  15. I didn't click your links, but I'm glad your done with this thread that I still fail to see why you even got involved in the first place. If I find what I was looking for, then I'll stand corrected and you'll get an apology. Until then, keep your pancakes...white chocolate chip cookies please.
  16. I do search, but in that instance I hadn't because I was going down the list of most recent to olderst threads. Since someone else replied recently, it's still well near the top. Why would I go searching for the newest thread of that topic when clearly it's right here in chronological order based on most recent reply? Last I checked...why is a question. My example of being told no in regards to my car is that there is never an absolute or guarantee in anything. His no is based on current beliefs that he has, so until someone tries it the way I'm asking, and even after that, it's still
  17. As I said, I was reading posts and simply going down the list of threads in the order they we're listed on. I didn't look at the dates, nor was I even searching for this topic in particular. Did you even read the comment I mentioned above that when it is something I'm looking for, that I do search first. So what if it was a month or a year old...better to revive old threads of the same topic and keep a clean house then make multiple threads of the same topic, essentially making it a search nightmare for AVIC newbies like myself. For the record, while the OP's thread started over a year ago
  18. Bump. I played around in testmode since I did the FX3.1 upgrade, but I can't see anything that'll let me adjust the brightness on the desktop. I'm guessing this is a coding thing that I have NO clue how to do.
  19. I have the same issue where I play movies via SD and it always starts the movie over from the beginning when I restart the car. Seems like something so simple, yet overlooked. I agree with the OP though...having an open platform would be so nice. I just replied on a thread about someone hoping that Android could be hacked and made to work on the AVIC. That would be awesome, but it seems this board has a fair share of "glass half empty" users who've made up their minds of what is and isn't possible.
  20. If it's ever a topic I'm curious about for my own benefit, I always search first and make my best effort to answer my own question before creating a new topic. I didn't even search for this thread, I just happen to scroll across is while viewing other threads and made a comment asking for updates. I've got a Samsung Moment and I'm running FX3.1 on my F90BT as of a few days ago, so I have yet to pair my phone to the stereo and see how it works with my phone.
  21. Like I said, unless YOU can show me an EXACT thread where someone tried putting everything onto the HDD in iPod file structures, formats, etc and it turned out to be a complete waste of time, then I'll shut up and quit questioning your holyness. I got told for years that a 6spd swap into my 740iL wasn't possible...it wouldn't run right cause the computer looks for the 5spd auto only, the engine was tuned for the autos shifting points, the OBC will give "trans failsafe" messages all over the place, it won't even start, yada yada yada. Guess who's got an M5 6spd running perfectly fine in hi
  22. Once again, that's not an answer as to why, it's just a no. I don't have any HDD's here to try it myself, but maybe those who are reading this can try what I asked about creating the folders in the same structure as an iPod and saving their music/videos in the same format. Since these units are supposedly built around iPod intergration, maybe changing how we store the files on the drive can help reduce the lag. Unless you, in your infinite 4000+ post wisdom , knows of a post that someone has done it EXACTLY what I'm asking about, how about you don't reply then since I already know your stan
  23. This is a repost from another thread, but it pertains to this subject of being able to use an external HDD to supply music/videos for those of us w/o iPods. Doesn't the iPod convert movies and and music into it's own specific format? This might sound too easy, but what about loading an external HDD with movies and music in the iPod specific format, folder arrangement, etc...maybe the deck would just default and think it's an iPod. All my computer, external HDD's, cables, etc are in Boise and I'm in Seattle, but I was playing with my little brothers iPod while helping him load music, a
  24. Doesn't the iPod convert movies and and music into it's own specific format? This might sound too easy, but what about loading an external HDD with movies and music in the iPod specific format, folder arrangement, etc...maybe the deck would just default and think it's an iPod. All my computer, external HDD's, cables, etc are in Boise and I'm in Seattle, but I was playing with my little brothers iPod while helping him load music, and when it was plugged into his PC, it opened up just like a thumbdrive with folders for pics, music, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it convert all
  25. You didn't answer the question with a why not, you just defaulted to "no" because it hasn't been done. Since the iPod is a harddrive running software that feeds to a screen, I still don't see why any HDD can't be made into an Ipod harddrive by taking it's software and just transferring it to something else.
