  1. I am experiencing issues with my 8100.  Sometimes when I connect my iPhone, after a few seconds the unit shows Error-06-20 and stops music.  On the main screen, the Apps icon appears with an X.  I can still listen to music if I hit the PLAY button on the phone, or hear alarms on the unit, but I think something stops working with the video.

If I keep the iphone connected to the unit, after a while the music quality starts degrading.  It happens often but not always.  I just disconnect the phone, wait a few minutes and then it works fine again.  Sometimes the error keeps showing on the screen even after disconnecting the phone.  I have to wait even more (10 - 15 minutes), then it's back to normal.

Does anyone in this forum know what this error mean? I tried looking for a service manual but can't find it online.

Any help will be much appreciated.

  2. I'm not exactly sure. I thought USB1 had to be used for the AppRadio (via HDMI/AV cable). When i had mine setup originally i had my iPhone in USB1 with HDMI/AV cable and my iPod touch in the USB2 port and that worked just fine. So if you are OK with reversing that order, then yes, that will work. But if you need to keep it in the order you have then i can't answer that one for you, maybe someone else has this setup.

The order is not important.  I just wanted to know if I could have the best of both worlds: ipod functionality and appradio.  My idea was to have both options because I really miss ipod functions that I lost when converted my 140BH to appradio, which sucks but at least I can have video capabilities like slingplayer, etc.

So, thank you very much for your answer, one more reason to buy a NEX.

  3. Really interesting what you guys are posting here, now I have a better picture of what NEX can or cannot do.

My question here is, let's say I want to use USB1 as a regular ipod (USB to lightning), but USB2 for appradio - or viceversa.  Will the unit let me do that? Or, by selecting appradio on one will automatically select that option on the other?

  4. I recently upgraded my Z120 (originally Z110) to Z130 with no issues at all.

Then I saw on Pioneer's webpage that a firmware upgrade was available, so I downloaded it to an SD card (512MB) but when I loaded it into my unit nothing happens. I already checked that the version on my unit is 03.0000 and yes, I did decompress the .exe file and put it on the SD card with nothing else on it. I did not re-name the folder or things like that, just followed the instructions but it looks like the update does not work.

I remember when I upgraded from 2.000 to 2.003 that the file Pioneer posted was somewhat damaged or something was missing, and they fixed it a few weeks later by posting the correct one.

I wonder if anyone else has the same issue updating the firmware.

I opened a new topic with (I think) the right title, so any help would be appreciated.

  5. Last week after upgrading my Ipod Touch IOS to 4.3, I noticed that when I turn my car on, the AVIC stays OFF, and I have to manually press the ipod icon, so it can start playing music. It's like when you turn your car off when playing your ipod, then unplug your ipod and turn the car back on, and your AVIC screen remains OFF until you either plug your ipod back or select other source.

I tried to play with the ipod settings but couldn't get it to work. If someone asks, yes, it worked fine with IOS 4.2.2 and earlier.

It's no big deal, but if this happens to someone else that means I upgraded my ipod correctly and it's something else. Any help would be great.

  6. I've searched on this forum but didn't find nothing. I upgraded yesterday my Z110; I got two SD cards, the first one went just fine but when I inserted the second card... nothing. Unit did not recognize it. Tried turning power off/on with no avail.

3.10 works just fine with my EVO 4G, so nothing to worry about just now, but any ideas what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  7. This time it uploaded right away. Now, after the process I checked the version and it says 01.00000 instead of 1.00000. I believe they meant to say 1.01000 but unit still works fine. I can live with that, I guess.

This a very serious forum. Pioneer's quality products lacked support, but this forum complements it just right.

    Good job guys!
