  1. Nifty, I see it now. Unfortunately it doesn't give much information about which divx formats it actually supports.

I might be an idiot bmuhfeld, but at least I can install one, you dipshit.

oh, i forgot, you're just not 'familiar' with it yet. enjoy.

  2. show me where. i don't see it on the pioneer website.

IF it does (big if) make sure you aren't using q-pel or bframes, those are usually killers for compatibility. i know they won't work in an avox unit.

  3. Just an update re: parkaveelectronics:

I finally got a tracking number out of them, and my D3 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Now I'm excited.

I paid $798 shipped. Does that count as the best price yet? :D

  4. Oh, and to mount any of these cams without drilling, just use 3M automotive tape. Its an excellent product, its the same stuff cars makers use to hold body kits on. It will hold that cam in place and not deteriorate with weather, but still be removable if you should choose to do so.

  5. Both of those last 2 cams posted are POS. I've used the first one, its huge and obnoxious. I'm on the eBay cam I posted, it is smaller than the pioneer and just as good, for $100 less.

I'll get a pic of it on the car and post it when i can so you can see how small it is. It snowed here and everythings all covered tho, might be a day or two.

  6. Here's what the install manual (page 10) says about the mute lead on the rca cable:

"If you use an equipment with mute function, connect that

equipment to the Audio Mute lead. If not, keep the Audio Mute

    lead free of any connections."

The bluetooth adapter doesn't need that audio mute lead though since it uses the IP-BUS connection, so no it won't affect that muting feature.

That's the info I was looking for, but didn't have a manual :D

    Thanks!

  7. Savings are not a crapshoot. $200 off retail is basically like getting the ipod, cd changer, and sirius for free! (the stuff I want)

Plus, I intend on bypassing it as soon as that's figured out, so my 1 year warranty from an 'authorized' dealer would be worth bupkiss anyway.

  8. I ordered over the phone (spoke to someone who confirmed availability and price) and used my CC. Worst case scenario visa will get me my money back. I'm not too concerned, but for the price I have to try!

I'll post next week with how the order went (assuming I get it!) but... here's to hoping I've stumbled upon a bargain.

edit: I just realized they have a big banner on their site that says "under new management"... I only hope that means better things too.

  9. Hello all,

A quick search of this area yields nothing on an install for a Highlander. I've got an '07 with the base sound system, and I have a D3 on order to arrive soon.

I am looking for info on where to tap the VSS and Backup wires (yes, i will be using a backup camera), and if anyone has any helpful ideas on running the GPS antenna.

Now, I know most toyotas are nearly identical (a 4runner is almost a highlander in terms of installs), and the electronics don't vary much between years / models, so any helpful advice from fellow toyota owners would be great.

    Thanks in advance!
