I just installed this http://www.amazon.com/Vision-HTC35-Weat ... =de_a_smtd camera on my new 920bt. I'm having a big problem with the camera. Luckily I did "dry run" before I ran all the cables. I applied 12 volt to the camera and connected to Rear camera RCA. All I got was terrible dark picture almost no color, just little bit of blue hue almost like looking trough really bad and dark tint job. I also noticed that the picture had lines running across like the old CRT TVs when they were not tuned properly or wen you see one on TV. Is there a special requirement for the camera that is plugged to this unit? I tried to plug it in AUX2 with same result. Here are the specs on the camera:
TV system: NTSC
Effective pixel: 510*492
H sync frequency: 15734 kHz
V sync frequency: 60 Hz
Scanning system: 2:1 interface
Sync system: Internal
AGC: auto
BLC: Auto
Resolution 420 TV lines
These are the specs on the original Pioneer camera:
Power source ........................................... 14.4 V DC
(10.8 V to 15.1 V allowable)
Grounding system .............................. Negative type
Max. current consumption .......................... 120 mA
Output video ....................................... Mirror image
(for rear view confirmation)
Sensor ............................ 1/4-inch color CCD sensor
No. of pixels ........ 492 (vertical) × 512 (horizontal)
(Total no. of pixels: 270 000,
effective no. of pixels roughly 250 000)
Lens ........................................................Wide-angle,
focal length f = 1.4 mm, F value 2.3
Angle of view ................... Horizontal: approx. 135º
Vertical: approx. 105º
IR cutoff filter (special filter for vehicle mounting)
.................................................................. Provided
Iris system .......................................... Electronic iris
Scanning system ........................................ Interlace
Synchronizing system ....... Internal synchronization
Signal-to-noise ratio .......................... 40 dB or more
(at the recommended intensity of illumination)
Horizontal resolution ............ Approx. 300 TV lines
The only difference is 300 vs 420 TV lines and scanning system does not have 2:1 mentioned
Video out: 1.0Vp-p 75 ohm
S/N ratio: more than 48 db
Power 12V +-10%
Any ideas before I send the camera back. Is it just incompatible or I had bad luck for bad unit?
Thank you for your answers...

I already installed my head unit (x920bt) in my 2010 Nissan Versa and tomorrow I'll be finishing my installation by replacing stock speakers and adding back-up camera.
My question is that my car has two VSS wires one with two pulses and other with 8 pulses. Which one should I use for my VSS head unit connection? Also I think there might be better way how to connect backup signal other than run it all the way to the back tail lights. (not that I mind, I have to run camera wire anyway) but it is less hassle. Does anybody know where I can find this wire and what is its color? Are the color universal across manufacturers?
Thank you for your answers...

It has nothing to do with the hardware bypass, what leads you to think that it would?
I thought that it might take in consideration input from GPS so park brake even grounded will be overruled by GPS sensing movement or VSS wire sensing speed....

Does anybody know if applying this update "fixes" park brake, mute grounding mod for using nav during traveling? Is it safe to run the update if you have this mod done?
Thank you

Hello fellow Pioneers...
Is there a way to update the logos in my X920BT with GEX-P920XM XM Satellite Tuner attached to it? And if so which file set to use from the beginning of this post..
Thank you Michael
