  1. I have a 2008 Tahoe with Z120BT, no bose, no onstar. I seem to lose my front driver door speaker all the time. Front driver tweeter remains on all the time though. The speaker will go out for days then I can be sitting at a traffic light and the speaker will fade in and everything will sound normal.

Has anyone had this type of problem with their Avic? I find it hard to believe that if could be a wiring problem being that it will come back sitting still in traffic and also fade in?

  2. I installed a z120bt with PAC OS4, PAC SWI-PS, and XM, in my 2008 Tahoe LT2 with standard audio config.

Recently I was informed that no sound is coming from my second row door speakers. In addition I noticed that my driver door speaker sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. The driver door speaker does not cut in or out but sometimes works when you turn the truck on and other times not.

I did the install myself, so I would like to think that it is not a wiring issue. Could it be anything else before I go ripping the dash open and testing all the connections?

  3. I found the Sirius SC-C1. Can I use that reciever along with Pioneer CD-SB10 and have everything good to go? The reason my friend is swapping HU is because his older Kenwood Excelon screen has seemed to go bad. Any compatibility between whatever Sirius components they used back in 2006 with a z120bt? (Just wondering before I go looking through his setup)

  4. What is the deal with the Sirius add on for Pioneer head units. I have a z120bt with XM unit that I just had to plug in the wires and antenna? I am going to do another z120bt install on a friends truck and he a Sirus account. What is the deal with the CD-SB10? Do you have to have a seperate Sirius unit to run everything on the HU? Does it have to be hard wired to switched 12volt power to operate correct?

  5. There is no way unless the EVO can display video over its USB port. The only phone that supports the proper protocols for AV from USB to these units is the iPhone.

I have been doing some research and found a micro usb cable to composite that would be perfect for what I want to do. Only thing is that I see it works on HTC Incredible, but no word about if it works on EVO.

  6. I'm planning on installing a X920BT in my 2007 tahoe. I have the PAC-OS4. Have you guys had any trouble fitting the unit and all the wires into the dash? Did you have to cut anything out? If you have any pictures that would be awesome. Thanks for any help!

Its a little difficult. I cut some of the plastic out from behind the unit to make it easier for my z120bt install. Also there are plastic pieces under dash just foward of the center console that open up so you can stick your hand up behind the headunit to feed the wires down. I also put all my PAC modules in that area as well.

  7. I rebooted my 3rd gen and now it works. Always reboot before anything else on anything that can reboot.lol Is the ipod suppose to turn off when the head unit and car is powered off? I don't want to have to unplug it everytime I want to use it.

I got the SWI-PS working correctly now. I needed to use version 2 instead of 1 because I am using the OS-4 module.

Everything seems to be working now. Install complete.

    Thanks for the help.

  8. Having some issues with my z120bt. Just started to do some install work late tonight and here is what I have so far.

    - Do we have to trim the dash for the head unit to fit in all the way? I can't seem to get mine deep enough. What do I do?

    - ipod interface not working. I have a 3rd Gen Nano 8gb. I connected it and boot up the system and try to go to ipod and it just switches between avi1, avi2, and ipod.

    - I have the new chimes. The factory ones were so good now these suck on the PAC OS4. Anyway to get factory chimes back?

    - SWI-PS can't seem to get it programmed correctly. Did not spend much time on it yet. What buttons are we programming to do what? How did you wire up your system to have a mute button plus do the bypass?

  9. 2008 Tahoe LT2. I just have the camera only. My truck does not have factory nav and was not prewired for B/U Camera. Think I will just buy that Wilson adapter.

Stoveken- do you know the exact power specs the factory camera calls for?

  10. I am looking for a 6 volt power source to power my factory backup camera in my Tahoe. I just bought the rear camera without the module or harnesses. Now I just need to power it so I can use it when I install my z120bt.

    - Does the z120bt have any 6 volt outputs I could use to power the camera?

    - Does my Tahoe have any 6 volt sources in it?

I think I will order this if no one has another solution for me.

  11. Just ordered everything to install z120bt in 2008 Tahoe. Just looking for any new tips and tricks to make the install go smoothly. I plan on doing the bypass already. Anything else you can help me with would be great. I include a list of truck specs and items I purchased.

2008 Chevy Tahoe- No: Nav, Bose, Onstar, or XM. Tahoe does have parking sensors.

What I bought: Pioneer z120bt, Pac OS-4 (I'm suppose to recieve the latest rev.), Pac SWI-PS rev. 1.6.8, GEX P-920XM, Ipod USB cable, and American International GM-K317 Dash Kit.

    - Where is the best/easiest place to mount the XM module? Where are we mounting the XM antenna?

    - I Heard that z120bt is slightly too deep for Tahoe dash and that trimming behind the unit is necessary. True or False?

    - My Tahoe did not come with a backup camera. I did install a factory camera, but instead of using the factory harness I spliced a 4 wire cord into the camera's cord. Now I have a power, ground, and 2 wires for an RCA plug. I need a 5 volt power source to power the factory camera. Does anyone know how I can go about doing this?
