4.001 is an update to 4.000, you need to get that first which comes on sd cards from Pioneer.

my F900BT was messed up a year ago due to irregular booting, and the only reasonable way to restore was to fully install "FX3.1 Complete Firmware Image by Retell" (post. on Sun May 09, 2010 8:00 am). Now, Pioneer released ver. 4 that I downloaded from the official site (http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/AVIC-F900BT/index.html), but the system does not recognise the SD card as an update card (starts normally, like the card has nothing in it).

Q1: Is it because of the hacked 3.x update, or there's something else wrong?

Q2: Is there a way to force the system to read the card as an update card?

Got an F900BT. What annoys me is the stupid algorithm that moves the knobs together in some unpredictable way! How hard would that be to have each knob moving independently! I wish there was a hack to make things that simple...
