  1. The cardinfo.cif from 2017 does not work with F10BT.

It took me a while to make my unit work at least with the 2017 SW again, as it was asking all the time for the right SD card. (I used the script before to replace the renewal dlls , and the password was accepted too.)

I made a  few experiment with patching the cardinfo with the string from 2017, but no success...

At the end I removed the USER\RW\RENEWAL\VERINFO.DAT , which was copied from the 2019 update already there (I know because I checked the content), which apparently does not match the 2017 cardinfo, and put in the 2017 update SD to repair the unit.

Any further suggestions with the cardinfo?

  2. Works on F920BT with 2.003 installed:

    1. Get the RenewalIFLib.dll from 2.003 Update or from your device via Service Mode

    2. Open it in hexeditor and find 57 0E 00 EB 03 50 A0 E3

    3. Replace it with 57 0E 00 EB 00 50 A0 E3

    4. In Service Mode: Delete old RenewalIFLib.dll in PRG0 and/or PRG1 and replace it with your patched version (from SD card)

    5. Do the CNSD-210FM update (Enter "PASSWORDPASSWORD" when asked for password)

To enter Service Mode: Let the device finish starting. Press and hold "Home" then press right, left, right, left, right, left then release "Home"

Worked fine on F10BT with 2.003 too, thanks!

  3. Wow, great news, I would like to see IGO8 running on my F10BT, I only wonder if the speed signal and the gyro signal could be used too, like in the native navi software.

It would be also nice to have an own app which can control the volume depending on the speed.

I hope the base system is the same for F30/F20/F10, so we could use the same hack on all systems.

If you need a beta tester on a F10BT ( I'm running 2.003 Firmware, so basically it is a F20BT), PM me ;)

  4. I have the same kind of problem with navigation sometimes on a F20BT. It happens usually when I make a stop on a long trip (after about 2-3 hours driving). After restart it starts to rotate like you described. I checked once the sensor status, and it really shoved a right turn on a straight road. Probably the G sensor did not initialized correctly, or did not finished the init phase before I moved on. Unfortunately the unit does not have a power-off button, so I had to stop again, wait for the afterrun, and power-up again to have the sensor reseted. After a short while it found and shoved my position correctly.

I tried once only resetting the G-sensor without power-off, but it never found my position again after that. It was somehow out of sync with the satellites. I had to do the power-off cycle, to make the navigation work again.

I think Pioneer has a bug here what they should fix in the firmware.

  5.

Another question: If you look at Pioneers USA-page the "CNSD-110FM"-sd card holds USA/CANADA maps.In the EU-pioneer-page that same sd-card "CNSD-110FM" holds EU-maps it says! Is it possible that the "CNSD-110FM" actually holds ALL(eu/usa/au) maps? and that the maps are selected depending on unit-version?

Reason i ask is that i saw that the "CNSD-110FM" you can download as a torrent contained all the eu-voice-languages also, and this torrent-file is supposed to be the american version i guess(?)

If you download both updates, you will see, that the map content is completely different. As I already mentioned, only the application is the same (this explains why all languages are available in both)

But did you ever try to upgrade to f20bt via the cnsd-110FM card? this firmware upgrade didnt bring you the new gui, right?

no offence, but what did it bring? sure you got it, as it still says 2.000?

With The v.2.000 update I succesfully installed the new GUI too...

By the way, the 2.003 upgrade was indeed succesfull, only the application info screen says it is still 2.000 (probably this is only a platform version)

In testmode the application version is displayed correctly as 2.003

So to your question: it brought new maps and new GUI (I don't like the new GUI, but there was no choice if I wanted actual maps, which are actually still a bit outdated...), the 2.003 brings although no noticable change

  6. I also have daytime running light, and it's kind of annoying that I have to manually dim at night - otherwise I don't see a thing from the display in daylight...

I was thinking about to buy a light sensor (my car does not have one) and connect it to the ILL input on the HU (with a relay if necessary), so it could change the color scheme and dim as necessary. But until now I haven't found a suitable and cheap solution...

  7.

If I can get into TestMode, i can downgrade at will. It means we can play around with the system and not have to worry about bricking it. I'm trying to figure out how to trigger it.

    Hmm, what's this?

A function called GetPBrakeStatus in NPVehicleHandler.dll?

Seems like we will not need a bypass anymore? ;)

I just feel like running haret on it and seeing if i can just port android for it. =P

Man, running Android with haret sounds so cool :) it would require a lot more development though, especially without the exact specs, adresses, protocols to use the HW.

I would be already happy if using iGO or other apps would be possible, or using an Eye-Fi card and have internet access through an accesspoint...

  8.

Very nice. All the crack does is crack the upgrade check. It doesn't touch any other files. What are the versions available for the EU version?

1.000 stock (can't get the files)

2.0000 EU 2010 Upgrade (i would want to take a look at those)

Anything else? Any 1.x updates or 2.x updates?

Dude, that was super risky though. If that's the case, this might be a universal crack for more devices than just Z110/Z120/F10/F20

    No risk, no fun :D

For EU there is only the 2.0 EU update(F10->F20) and the 2.003 update available (the 2.003 EU has exactly the same files as the 2.003 US)

    Nothing more.

What made me think that the hack should work, is that the US 1.001 update is also exactly the same as the AU 1.001 update as saiwogjai also mentioned. And also most of the 2.0 update is the same, excluding the maps, and some files which seem to store version numbers regarding the maps.

I have no clue about the files of other systems, but if the file-check is the same, you might be right.

But I think it is necessary to hack the 2.003 update too, for future updates, as it probably overwrote the hacked files on the unit. (I just have no idea why it does not show for me right version - does it show for US 2.003?)

The only thing I made maybe wrong is, I did first only the 3.1 BT update, then as I had the 2.003 and the 3.11BT update on the same card, it automatically installed the 2.003 first, before I could start the 3.11BT update.

Regarding mods, I havent found anything yet to get to the bitmaps, the image.img file is not a jffs2 filesystem image, I tried.

  9. I took a deep breath, and tried the hack on my F10BT (EU). And it worked :) I was able to install the hacked US 1.001 , then the EU 2.0 update with a random password.

    Thanks ShortFuse for the hack!

It seems, that the application part is the same for both variants.

The only strange thing is that after I tried to install the 2.003 update, it still says 2.0000 although it copied the files, and it seemed that it finished correctly (reseted / restarted itself as it should). If I try to reinstall the update, nothing happens.

The unit seems to be fully functional, so it's fine for now.

  10. ShortFuse, is it possible for you to look into the update for the european version?

    http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/softw ... wnload_211

I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for here... The only thing I've done so far is hack the v1.x to 2.0 password protection.

The problem is, that for the EU versions (F10BT) there was no 1.001 update offered, so we can't use this as a basis to hack the update.

Strange though, that the 2.003 update is existing for the F20BT too, and so far I compared the EU and US files, it looks exactly the same.

So it might do work using the US 1.001 update files, but I don't want to brick my unit...
