I have the AVIC-X910BT which I purchased as a refurbished unit off of Ebay last September. The unit has worked perfect and I've never had any trouble with it.

I've done some searching, haven't quite found all the answers I was looking for, so I'm asking here.

The startup on this system is ridiculously slow. When I start it up, it sits on the splash screen FOREVER (45 seconds to a minute), then it goes to the NAV Warning Screen and you have to hit ok.

I have already done the wiring bypass so I can watch DVD's on road trips on the highway.

I'm wanting to update to the FX3.1 (from what I've read it's supposed to fix the slow startup time)

but I can't seem to find out how to backup my system before I do this? I don't see any option that says backup, and I've ran a search on here and haven't found anything on backing up the X910BT (some people were requesting the knowledge, and one guy said he was gonna upload his version, but the thread went dead). I downloaded the Firmware Update 3.020100 from Pioneer (which is what is already what version is installed on mine, so I'm assuming I can use this as the backup in case something goes wrong?)

does that give me the latest up-to-date Maps prior to the CNSD-200 FM Update? because I'm thinking about purchasing the CNSD-200FM Update in September, however, if it's just better for me to wait till I buy it, then I will.

Also, how can I get rid of that annoying startup NAV warning screen that pops up every time I start the car? Does the FX3.1 update take care of that?

is there a wireless or wired remote available for the AVIC-X910BT?

I can't possibly fathom how Pioneer failed to make and include a remote with this unit.

surely there is something compatible or aftermarket that will work with this player.
