Updated my 8000 yesterday and so far so good.

I'll give it a try and see if this works for my note 4.

Confirmed that sideloading HTC Car + Automate is a way to get an Android Auto-like interface to your car on a 4000/8000NEX. It works on my 8100NEX.

 

However, this doesn't output any audio. Is there a specific version of HTC Car I should be using?

 

Note: WAZE also works through HTC Car if you use it there.

Looking like root for Verizon note 4 is not possible. Guess for this to work I would either have to buy the 8100nex or get a note 3. Note 3 sounds like the easiest way out.

Yeah, I know, I learned that back with my S5. The touch input is still glitchy at best. I'll try and scroll to the left to go through my apps, and the scroll will almost kick back and go in the opposite direction once I lift my finger.

You need to adjust your HDMI input settings on your radio. Theres a section where you can adjust screen boundaries, I forget where that setting is exactly, gotta dig through the settings menu but it is there. That may also aid your in-screen control problem. Either that, or you're not properly setup via ARUnchained and are just displaying over your HDMI input setting on the radio rather than app mode

I don't have ARUnchained  because I thought the phone had to be rooted.

I'm not sure if the note 4 supports MHL, but i think it does, you may just need an extra adapter, some extra info inside here. In this case, rooting your phone and running ARUnchained may render you some good results. That was the go-to solution with the S5, but it was rather buggy for me, not sure if it was because my phone was screwed up or if my radio was screwed up. It would function great for 5 minutes, then the display and audio would slowly start to distort to the point of inoperability.

The note 4 supports mhl. That's how I use it now but it doesn't fit the screen and there is no in screen control.

So should I do away wit my mhl adapter and just connect my note 4 through the usb, if so which port should I use?

Do you think this will work for the note 4 on the 8000 nex?

Is there any way to get my note 4 to go full screen on my 8000?

Does the antenna have to be on the outside of the vehicle?

I'm new to xm radio and would like to know what is needed to install xm on my 8000nex?

Root isn't the problem, it's the locked bootloader. 

 

There is a developer edition of the Note 4 for Verizon that has an unlocked bootloader and is rootable right out if the box.

 

And I just got mine. Now I'll have to see what I can find.

Use a samsung MHL 3.0 adapter. I have my note 4 rooted and flashed with xnote rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-tmobile/development/rom-xnote-v3-0-nk4-n910w8-n910t-tmobile-t2980226 and adjust my dpi with the roms built in xtransformer to get proper resolution along with nova launcher to fine tune things also use appradiounchained. Buy it for the 30$ its 110% worth it!!! 

If you want to go wireless id go with the netgear push2tv, though if playing video ... quality is crap and your battery will be dead from 100 - 0 in about 2.5 hours. The netgear is the only adapter that works effectively. I tried the samsung hub and will not work with the avic but works great to tv ....

I hope someone comes up with a root for the Verizon note 4's. Starting to feel like I should have gotten a note 3.

I have a avic-f900bt but I have been offered a good deal on a avic-x930bt. My question is what's the advantages of the x930 over my f900?

Did you try installing the update?I have the same unit and when I went in tho check on the software version,it showed nothing.After I installed the update it showed the new version and mine has been working fine.

Did you open the folders and put just the files on your sd card?I think I remember having to open up the folders and add just the files to the sd card before putting the card in my 900bt.

I have been trying to load one of the custom splash screens on my 900bt from the forum but everytime I load one it will not cover the entire screen.I click on the pic and it opens up bigger,then I right click and save picture as to my thumb drive.I take it and hook it up to the usb of my head unit and up load it but it never fills the screen.

Can anybody tell me the location and color of the VSS wire on my 04 chevy avalanche?Searched the forum and came up with nothing.

Just got off the phone with customer support and they said its probably a bad antenna.

My nav started telling me that the signal has been lost every now and then few days ago.Now it seems to happen every few minutes.And on the way home last night the icon on the map was traveling off course.I have tried resetting the system and that did not help.It will even lose the signal without moving my vehicle.I did notice that everytime I start up to go somewhere that the nav is reading correctly.I did not hook up the vehicle speed sensor wire,not sure if that would be causing my issue or not.Everything worked just fine after I first installed it.Any suggestions would help.Thanks.
