the processing on eclipse & alpine head units are VERY good, and thats one reason why it sounds better than the pioneer.

update this thread once you have spent a little time w/ the d3 and comapre the navigation to the garmin's. i am interested to get your opinion since you seem like a seasoned navigation user.

not of the differnt views. plus most are short to say the least.

as tile says. could someone please post a video of the navigation in action and all the different modes of it (ie, map, driver, route, guide)? every place down here (tampa) has them in, but not on display yet. thanks in advance.

The map display is hideous on the Kenwood.

have you seen the map (2D & 3D) on the 7100. the 3D is a little cartoony, but that is the only thing i can see wrong about it.

u can get the 7100 for $1200. i dont know if hes an "authorized" seller though

in general, sirius sounds better. xm bandwidth is spread over more channels, thus losing some of the sq coming from the music.

as far as which sounds better on the d3 or has a better interface, i dont know since i dont have it yet.

does anyone have any pix w/ sirius on the display. ive seen other installs w/ xm and i noticed it shows channel logo / name. does sirius do this as well?

costco has a great return policy. look around for people talking about how their tv broke after 4yrs, and costco will just replace it w/ something the same price if it is no longer available ( which is usually the case ), no questions asked.

the nav might be the determining factor in wether i get the d3 or kenwood 7100. the kenwood uses garmin based navi, but i have to see both in person to decide.

I think he meant torrent trackers, not clients.. mininova, demonoid, pirate's bay are all good.

 

as far as playing your music videos.. chances are they're already encoded to divx/xvid, so you don't need to convert anything. Check my guide on making xvid videos play on the d3: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4950
