New phone and Android Auto no longer loads when I plug it in. Samsung S9.
It worked fine on my old phone. Bluetooth connects fine but AA will not load

But not all harness are the same. Like preouts
So the 8500 harness is different than the 8100? Was looking for a plug-n-play swap out if possible.

Anyone know if the wire harness from the 8100 is the same as the 8500?
I currently have the 8100 and am thinking about upgrading to the 8500 if it isn't a lot of trouble to swap.

what souce are you on. if it is like USB. make sure you dont have shuffle on.
I have a hard drive connected to USB and I have shuffle on so I don't have to hear the same group/album.
I have the same issue the OP is having. Are you saying that Shuffle is causing that?
-
Eddie, are you sure you can't upgrade via SD card slot in the front? I have an 8200NEX, and I was able to do it. I was under the impression that the only difference between yours and mine is that you can use Aha Radio & I can't.
I was wondering the same thing. I have an 8100 and I could have sworn that the last time I upgraded, I just used an SD card in front.

Your hard drive connection is USB... right?
iPod connection is what... USB???
I understand your USB A female connector may be concealed. But you're the one asking the question. AFAICT, you cannot download tags to anything other than an iDevice.
My hard drive is USB to USB 3.0 Micro B
My iPod is USB to 30 pin

Use someone else's iPod???
I don't have the iPod connection hooked up any more. I use a hard drive for my music.

Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?

Is there a way to download tagged songs if I don't have an ipod or iphone attached to my NEX-8100?
-
Is it a whine or more like background noise? I installed a filter on my 5000 and it made a world of difference.
Neither.
Just whenever I completely stop, sometimes the music seems to sound crisper/better.
-
Being stopped and being in motion in a vehicle have totally different noise floors. That's why...
Ummmmmmmmm, ok

I have noticed recently that the music on the radio seems to get a little clearer whenever I have come to a complete stop.
Is it just me or does anybody else have this?
-
I'm assuming you checked the HD radio menu settings to make sure digital is enabled?
Haven't seen a button to enable HD. I have a button that allows me the strength of local stations. Off - Level 4

So if you take it off random play, does it go back to songs that were random played, or different songs?
I haven't tried that yet.
I know when it's not on random, it simply repeats the song 3-4 times. It would be on repeat setting.
-
Tim98TA, The more files you have on the disc you use, the longer it will take to read, search, etc. My experience with searching backwards, is when I have it on random play, it will not search backwards. When i take it off random play, i hit the backward search twice and it goes to previous song, or once if i want to start song over.
Thanks. I guess it kinda sucks that you have to take it off of random just to go back. I think I have about 1500+ songs on my drive.
It initially reads fast and will fast forward almost as fast as I can hit the button.

Anything over 64g seems to be a pain. The 128 is slow, but better if u format to Fat32. Don't go any beyond the 128G and don't listen to anyone that tells you it works great,, there're FOS. I really think you will be happy at 64g. Seems to be a real sweet spot
Will the 64 be able to 'backup' to previous songs though? That's the only issue I am having.
-
My smaller USB (64g) drive works fine searching forward and back. However the 1TB SSD USB drive takes forever searching backwards and a lot slower searching forward when compared to the smaller USB drives. I also notice music info is hit and miss on the 1TB drive. Sometimes it pops up at the end of a track, sometime nada. Large formatted USB drives are a pain in the rear. I wish more people that tried this were more up front with the problems with these large formatted SSD drives.
I haven't seen one post stating these issues, other than to say "yea, I did it and it works great". Ha, no throphies given from here, but it does help build my 'ignore' BS list.
OH I take that back, One guy stated after the fact of trying this "I should have said the first load could take up to 20 minutes or longer,". I still offer no help trophies here, how can you do that when someone leads you into land mines,, and probably laughing all the while. It doesn't matter going forward. I can't here that person any longer...
I'm using the MyDigitalSSD 128GB. Can't search backwards at all. Really sucks. My music info works fine though.
-
I have a question for anyone using an SSD. That is what I am using but when trying to do a song search, just using the 'fwd' button on the HU, it will not let you 'rev' to the previous song. Has anyone seen this and how, if so, did you correct that? Kinda sucks sometimes if you accidently hit the fwd button and want to back up to the previous song.

You are in the wrong place, you are looking for SyncTool, not AVICSYNC. And you need to use a thumb drive, not the phone.
Read this:
Well, DUH, on my part. Don't know why I didn't see that.
Anyway, I tried SyncTool with an SD card last night. It would not reckognize it. My hard drive is in USB1, so now I have to either buy another small hard drive(Has USB 3.0 Micro-B connection) or try to find a female USB 2.0 to female USB 3.0 Micro-B adapter. Haven't had any luck yet tho.
-
Wouldn't it be nice if they just went back to the old way of doing it.
A - download update on SD card.
B - plug SD card into HU.
C - enjoy update.
