    3. I assume the FM tuner is hardware locked, if you open up the X920 you'll find several references on the circuit board to the region the unit is intended for e.g. US, EU, AUS, etc. I tried to add resistors to attempt a change to the frequency scan but nothing worked. Somewhere on this forum there's a topic about the different tuning ciruit used for different regions.

(If you want to use the FM radio, try searching for a FM Band expander or US FM shifter or something like that. This will alter the FM frequency that your radio demodulates.) Google/Ebay is your friend.

  2. I am confused? What is the Nav software running in these units? I thought that all Pioneer systems had iGo?

Hold on a bit Abb1, we went from having nothing to having a potential backdoor into the our "unhackable" Avics. Using Condi's work we are hoping someone or even a collected few will be able to access the GPS port and/or run WinCE Explorer to it's full potential.

Getting to Testmode is one thing, running IGO, Explorer and File manager is a hack.

  3. Try focus on control panel and basic stuff! why control panel doesnt run? why menus dont work?? maybe the control panel try locate explorer into windows folder, maybe all problems can be easly solved after get basic stuff running!

Agreed! What I am trying to highlight is even if the library files are located, the apps don't run. One of the apps that complains about a missing dll is explorer even though it appears to run on the avics (with limited functionality)! When I copy missing dlls DW does not show errors, however explorer then refuses to run. I am only assuming that the dll files is incorrect or any of the reasons I eluded to previously.

My guess and it really is a guess, is that explorer needs the to be fixed first. An example is to look at the Garmin.mscr, it relies on explorer to run first.

  4. Can I suggest to add few tasks to "to do list"?

    - Run emulator of our devices on PC.

    - integrate different GPS software (IGO - my preference) into system, it should work with standard Player and Bluetooth etc.

I have run Dependency Walker on many apps that don't run on the AVIC and I see that IESHIMS.DLL is missing  . I have sourced a wince 5.0 rom, extracted the all the library files but only copied the absent DLL files to the directory where the apps are.

Dependency Walker does not complain about missing DLLs :) but the apps still don't run on my AVIC

I'm thinking a registry entry is missing or a app killer is running, anyone with other ideas on how to get apps running?

  5. As far as I remember Navi.exe was running after Av.exe, with hackmode it doesnt run! Also I've replaced Navi.exe with iGO exe and also it doesnt find gps.

Keep on searching for the solution guys :)

Tomorrow I will have free day, I shall use the time for avic!

    Hi Condi,

I launched CEprocessV.exe (files from post #23). I see Navi.exe, HMImanager.exe, Voice.exe, Pserver.exe running. Try running CEprocess and let me know if you see something similar.

  6. I could only copy a few files from the WINCE ROM with FileMan.

While running autodetect on iGO i notice it skips ports 2-3-5-7. I'm guessing one of them (probably com7) is the gps but it's locked. I can't get PortSplitter to run (no interface shows up).

I don't have experience with the portsplitter app, however if you can kill the navigation app then the gps will be free to be accessed by any other program. I have tried to kill navi.exe but the avic hangs  I assumed that this was using the gps port.

  7. Replaced Navi.exe runs automatically, then after some seconds AV process comes to front, when you want to switch to nav it goes black ;)

I've got all time long new ideas to get gps to work, just keep on trying :)

    1) I will make shortcut to auto-make-testmode-sd and enter ;),

    2) tried already some other splitter-thing without success, ok, will try Glopos later :)

    3) control panel is not working correctly, but for now i think its wince 5,

    4) I will make version for USB later this weekend :) or maybe sd&usb, both in one :)

    5) F30BT - my maaan :D i've got this unit :)

Thanks for feedback with v.0.2! :)

Try with iGO and other stuff, more of us the more chance to get gps working!

IGO8 works launches, thanks for the copy Condi, I just need to work on the GPS bit now.

So far I have failed to extract library files from the WINCE ROM, I have used FileManCe, TestDump, Total Commander, etc. I have even tried editing the registry but also no luck.

Anyone had any success with the wince rom?

  8. No problem :) post here is it working ok for you, and on which unit!

Works on a X920BT. You just need to copy your PRG0 directory back to the NAND but as PRG1 and follow your steps.

I have chopped and changed your mscr file to load Wince desktop and file manager. I am still battling to get Garmin software to load

If you use regedit (wince s/w) you can find the gps info but whether it is useful, I can't tell as yet.

    Explorer.exe
