So, my rep IS a moron...got Z-3's in, last week. I stand embarassingly corrected.
just curious, who is your rep? I would REALLY like to know
-
they havent merged yet
-
the z3 is the same as the z2
-
I am not talking about the image. I am talking about the actual unit
-
No, I have a Feb 07 Z2 unit unfortunately. Since a number of folks here and about already have a Jun 07 image, I anxiously await confirmation here as many do if it actually is bypassable or just a rumor.
How many conformation do you people need? there are at least 4 different people that have it on this board alone and you guys still question it? the reason why there isnt more because they are shipping both bypassable and non bypassable units. so right now it is hit and miss. if you want one so bad call your local stores and ask them to look at the master carton.
-
no rumors
the ones that have the yellow dots on the MASTER carton box are bypassable
-
Crap, no yellow dot on my box. Has anyone else seen a yellow dot on their box or any Z-2 boxes besides the guy who posted this whole theory earlier?
did you not read my post, manufacture date of JUNE
and its not a theory
-
I broke down and went ahead and ordered my Z2. It should be here either friday or monday, ohh how I hope it has a yellow dot.
you wont see the yellow dot, what you need to look for is the manufacture date
-
-
ok here is what i have found out. There is a yellow dot on the master carton of the Z2 next to the bar code. Manufactured date is June. Just got confirmation that it was install and bypassed with full functions. customer was traveling at highway speeds with DVD playing and no grey buttons on the navi. the Z1 wiring bypass is the method

On a side note, that T guy seems to have mysterious disappeared after yet another huge blunder.
What was my "huge blunder"?
-
they are the same price
you on the terk you need the tuner and the translation cable.
and with my experience, they should work the same but there are times that the terk piece doesn't work at all.
-
The idea is to let them know it might cost them too much money if they don't (in lost sales). I think it is worth a try. Like I said if nothing else at least the annoyance factor that they'll experience will make up for the annoyance factor that we are experiencing with the lack of functionality.

first of all, pioneer is not losing money at all on this product. In fact they are becoming hard to get a hold of, and a lot of times on backorder.
Secondly do you think that any of those emails will be read? If they are, will it be anyone important or that gives a damn?
-
wont work
legal would never allow it. period.
it would potentionally cost way too much money
-
its not "non bypassable" its just a matter of who figures it out.
-
you see Lonestar, evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
-
just a little FYI
when the Z1 to Z2 update is out, it will lockout all current bypasses. so dont update until the new bypass is figured out
-
also there is four empty slots in one of the harnesses(i cant remember which one) has anyone tried to ground those?
-
no i haven't
it was a suggestion
-
if you are doing the installs today try this
on the bottom of the unit there are 4 pairs on leads that are exposed from the board. try soldering one or all of those leads
-
-
was it an authorized dealer?
were you just trying to save a buck?
-
Hey I screwed up
and for that i apologize
