to get it to show the names, press on the center of the joystick to get the options screen, press on function, then I think you press function3 a few times, it will cycle through display options.. album, title, artist i think.
The only thing I can recommend for making it easier to navigate is to make playlists in itunes -

as soon as i got that email I went to thepiratebay.org and started downloading. pioneer needs to get their heads out of their asses, if the price was reasonable I would buy it legitimately;$250 is completely ridiculous. as a comparison, MS Streets & Trips is $40......
