  1. Ok,

I have read so much on this forum my Head is spinning. I want to know what Radio comes most recommended from you guys.

I want to mirror my jailbroken iPhone 5s,so that I can operate the phone from the unit.( i realize that Mike Decaro still has some work to do and I will donate some cash to his cause for sure)

I want to be able to hook the unit up to a rear seat entertainment system.

I would like to be able to play a dvd in the unit itself.

I would like to be able to hook up an after marked subwoofer also.

    Thanks for all your input.

  2. I tried video worked for iphone.. but audio did not and it got stuck on cmos ------ step 6-7 in the update. no audio through the iphone cable. i have heard there will be another update.. but I called pioneer and they said I had to send my radio in to get the radio back to normal. not sure.. I have posted this right below your post as well.. no replies yet on mine.. good luck... let me know if you find something.. So frustrating.

  3. spoke with tech support today about the lack of audio using the VGA navi cable and they acknowledged the issue and said they have been working on deploying a firmware update to fix it asap.

Map update is also very soon according to the second tier tech support person.  I get video and mirror support to my 940BT but no audio.  Using the CD-IV202NAVI recommended cable system.

Firmware update will be required for it to work is what they officially told me today.

did your update go all the way through.. mine got to step six and never gave me a sd version? did yours?

do you have video if you click on av1 and no audio?

my radio sees the iphone.. will play the ipod part but no audio and alot of the features do not work.. ugh..

did you use a mac or pc to download the update?

I used a mac..just wasnt sure if that had something to do with it.

    anyone else?

  5. I used the hack here last year to upgrade my 930 to a 940. I am now trying to use the official pioneer 940 upgrade.. to work with my iphone5.. is this even possible? I have downloaded the software and everything works up until i get to the screen that says

  6. Hi all, been six months or so ago when last I was trying to see status of iPhone 5 connectivity solution for the AVIC-X940BT.  Have gone through a lot of board posts looking... thought it best to ask on the end of this thread (you folks seem to be better on your game.)

VBLUE42, in one of your earlier posts in this thread, I thought you were saying something about a 940 solution, and you posted a link - but it doesn't appear to be working now (think it was http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/iPod-and-iPhone-Cables/CD-IV202NAVI ).

When I went hunting with that info back to the Pioneer site, they show that  the CD-IV202NAVI is the iPhone 5 solution for, and compatible with the AVIC-X850BT.

Are you saying that this cabling / connector solution (the CD-IV202NAVI) is also my solution for my 940BT?

I'm more than happy to find a local smart car stereo Pioneer Navi guy to hook me up with this - just didn't want to pull the trigger until I had pretty good confirmation that this will work.

(The word "work" in this context is to raise my present $1000 big screen AM/FM car radio to the iPhone connected car audio system that I had been promised when I was hoodwinked by the idiot teen at the BestBuy who didn't know what the f*ck he was talking about... Buyer beware - my own fault. Nuff said.)

Lot of great info here - chewed up lots of lunch hours learning what NOT to do. Keep up the great work.

    Respectfully,

The problem is Pioneer has not release the software that works with this hardware. I have called every month and every month they say.. It will be out next month! Ugh..

  7. Vblue42,

thanks for your time. I was under the impression that the 930 and 940 for the most part where the same except software?

That http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/iPod-and-iPhone-Cables/CD-IV202NAVI would plug into the back of the 930 like it does the 940. I guess after looking around, the cable is not yet available. I was hoping this cable might do the trick? what do you think?

    Thanks again for reaching out.

    Joe

  8. Hello all,

I have read about nine forums and am only looking for an answer to wether the appradio extensions will allow my iphone 5 to appear on my x930bt upgraded to x940bt software. I know i might need the lightening to vga and the pionneers vga to the deck adapters. Before I buy all that junk does anyone know wether this even works?

    Thanks for your time

    Joe

  9. Sounds like you are just using the BT audio source. Yes - that works - as any audio would coming from your phone over BT. When << and >> (prev & next) makes sense in context of the phone's app, those buttons on the HU will work.

But what we are talking about is the Aha and Pandora dedicated screens on the AVIC (Z140). Switch to that source and your BT connected smartphone will start the Pandora app on the phone, display all the info - including album art, and even allow thumbs up/down. You can also change from among your previously configured Pandora favorite stations.

I don't use Aha so I can't describe the features supported by the HU.

thanks for claryifing, Yeah i cannot get pandora or aha to work with my iphone 5 on ios6. when i hit connect it connects, but says its disconnected. even though it is definately connected.

  10. If you want to use BT for Pandora/Aha on your iPhone (or any smartphone), you have to set Settings/AV System Settings/App Connection to BlueTooth. Otherwise it assumes you are using a wired iPhone connection.

hey mine does the same thing but if you pull up pandora on your phone and then hit play under the box on the pioneer touch screen, it will start to play pandora..if you want to skip next just hit the fwd button. you can pause and play. no pictures of album art or anything though.

plus make sure its in the wireless bluetooth setting in app mode like stated before.

Anyone get album art or aha radio to work?
