just get the update from gdocs link in post #1, expand it to SD card like the instructions say

replace the verinfo.dat using instructions from my post #2. Do not need to use attached file on post #1.

Hello all, I have kindly been given access to the CNSD-310FM EU 2012 update and have the CARDINFO.cif and VERINFO.DAT files which hopefully with a little help from pionara, will make the update function for us EU users?!

 

The full update is currently uploading so i will post a link to that once it becomes available. (21%)

To do the update on an F930BT you just have to:

 

01) Download the rar from the link above above.

02) Extract it to a safe place.

03) Open the extracted folders and go into the Update folder

04) Replace the VERINFO.DAT with the one in pionara's second post on this thread.

05) Copy everything you extracted onto a clean 4GB+ SD Card

(make sure that the files and folders on the route of the SD card are:

FIRMWARE (folder)

Update (folder)

CARDINFO.cif (file))

06) Put it in your Car (with the engine running or on a charger etc)

07) The Pioneer should reboot and start the update.

08) Follow the on screen prompts

09) Once completed, it may ask you to update again, if so, select no.

10) Enter Bluetooth settings and update the bluetooth firmware. (This seemed to take longer than i expected but dont worry, it does eventually get there!

 

The above files are not a hack to do the upgrade, they are the official Pioneer Update Files. The only hack is with the VERINFO.DAT which I believe all it does is bypass the passcode request when the update starts. There shouldnt really be any reason for this to fail.

 

As always, with anything like this, I would always advise you backup first!

The existing cardinfo.cif should work with EU versions of F930 & F30, but if you have F10, F20, or F920, you can do this mod to cardinfo.cif - just open in text editor, search and replace exactly:

TomTom took over TeleAtlas. So the maps now belong to the company TomTom but they are for this unit.

 

If you have not enough free diskspace try to remove some unneeded voices or .DEM files. I removed Asia, Australia etc. and removed some voices since I only use the Dutch ones

Bueno para todos los que tengan un F930BT, he de decir que no hay posibilidad TODAVÃA de hacer funcionar MODS correctamente, el único HACK que funciona es el de CONDI, que nos permite hacer un Backup de nuestra carpeta USUARIO para en el futuro poder meterle mano.

 

A día de hoy se puede hacer funcionar navegadores externos, tipo IGO y demás, pero el GPS no funciona. Están trabajando en ello.

The first is if there are any recommended modifications to make before installing the unit in the car.

For example moving video I've seen a tutorial but do not know if my model is valid for.

If I connected the handbrake cable to ground and I have connected the signal from the speedometer pulses.

Would it work the video in motion?

I go read at x-series forum.

Unfortunately new line of pioneer HUs like we discuss here do NOT uses IGO anymore. So it is no point to update IGO maps yet because IGO runs but still doesn't detect GPS port.

The F930 is not the X series - it is the EU hardware/software equivalent of the Z130 - if it's a 930, that should be the latest SW (but it is hacked - so you can load updates).

You can copy files. You can't replace files- delete files first then copy new files.

You can run some exe files. It is possible to run IGO and some other exe. But not all exe files works.

Hack mode load up but can't really do anything. Can't copy files, can't execute (exe), nothing in control panels works. Taskmanager, reg editor, and sirftech works I think.
