  1. I just put in an avh-x2600bt  and the cd-iv203 cables and apple lightinging to via adapter.

I plug the cd iv203 cables into the  the lightining adapter and then that into a iPhone 5s and get incompatible usb device.

I have another lightning to vga adapter same thing.

If i remove the adapter and plug the phone directly in with out the adapter it connects fine but no video.

    What is the problem?

  2. I'm wondering the same thing. I am installing an AVH-X3600BHS (same as yours plus HD radio) with an Axxess Metra ASWC-1 and want to program activating siri.

From my understanding the ASWC-1 does not support it at least thats what there tech support said.  I know a bit how these interface work, and they work of resistance. The question comes to did pioneer build it into there wired remote feature set?

    Thanks

    Mike

  3. I sold my 5500bhs and picking up the 2600bt.  My question is can you map a steering wheel control to activate siri.  I was unable to do this with my 5500bh.  I was using the metra axxess module.  The only way i could access siri on my 5500bhs was to hold the app button down.

    Thanks

  4. Primary Stuff:  I'm confused about using the combo of the AppRadio and the iPhone... for instance, I need some navigation, but I'm not pulling over to monky with my iPhone keyboard every time I want to look for a gas station, hotel or someplace to eat.  I also don't want to _lose_ my GPS routing when answering the phone or calling.  And of course, I need the phone to be hands-free.  I don't mind connecting the phone bc I'm the only person driving the truck, and of course I'd like to be able to access my contact list and select the call from the HU screen/controls, so again... I don't want to have to monkey with the iPhone while driving

The appradio has an app on your phone that launches on your radio screen.  This will allow you access your compatible apps via the touch screen.  Once in a nav app like waz you will be able to look for hotels and type in address via the radio not your phone.  Appradio does support hands free. If you are on the phone I am not sure if it will announce directions.

Minor Stuff:  It looks like the big difference in the Gen3 vs the Gen2 is the DVD/CD player?  I'm not bright enough to shrink a movie onto my iPhone so my grandkids can watch it if they're riding with me.  So I think I need one of those brake bypass gadgets and maybe the AR3 with the DVD player built-in?

If you want to watch regular dvds the AR3 would be your best bet. For the bypass your are looking for a micropass. They are about $20

So when people say the iPhone is "mirrored" on the AppRadio's screen, does that mean I'll see emails that I can respond to, an interactive Safari browser, and other functions like streaming my iPhone's music?  Also, with regard to navigation, does the AR3 come with real built-in navigation, or is it piggy-backing Google Maps or something like that?

The iPhone can not be truly mirrored unless you have your phone jailbroken and using appradio extensions.  It will only mirror compatible apps  List of the apps http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio

  5. I love, that it has the analyzer but when hooked up to the iPhone and playing pandora or other music from the phone it doesn't seem as responsive or fluent as if you where listening to the radio. Anyone else see this? I wish the gave you other option for spectrum

  6. i Have a avh-5500bhs and am interested in making my own bypass as well.

Can i just pulse 12 volts or negitive wire to the parking brake wire ?

how exactly does it work ?

Currently I am using a arduino and a transistor.  I am powering the arduino from the amp turn on wire from the head unit.  I just wrote a simple code to pulse to ground the ground wire.  Really easy

  7. How did you access Siri from your 140 through the steering wheel controls? The 140 would have no way to even know what Siri was.

I did not access siri on the the 140 but accessed the internal voice commands.

Are you able to activate Siri via a button on the included IR remote? if so, then you should be able to configure your steering wheel controls to activate it as well. I'm not familiar with the metra awc though, so you may or may not need additional equipment.

I have not tried it form the remote yet.  I will try and see if  I can.

    Thanks

    Mike

  8. So far love the unit.  But there are couple things i dont understand.  If i am playing pandora and i want to switch to nav lets say with an app.  I hit app mode and it shuts off pandora.  I now have the map app running.  But how do i start pandora again?  The only way i can make it work is if i double click home button and start the music from the iphone.  So basicly you are shit out of luck if you want to listen to music and use a nav app.  I had no problem doing this on my z140bh.  Does this make sense ?
