I have a Avic-8000nex with my Note 3 using ARU Unchained Reloaded. I also have the Netgear PTV-3000 wireless Miracast unit. So far it has work pretty well the past couple of weeks. There are a couple of bugs that I am sorting out. Here is a quick video I made showing it working

Does the 8000NEX send GPS signal to the AppRadio Mode? I mean, Can you use Waze or any other navigation APP with ARU and your Mobile GPS turned off?
I am sorry to say that it does not send gps signal . When i use Waze , it disables GPS signal on my Note 3. But other nav apps like Sygic,Google Maps etc., it works but uses my phone's gps signal not the unit. Similar issue when i had the avic-z150bh. I believe when appradio app detects that it is connected to a navigation unit, and try to start the pioneer app uses(like waze) it disable the gps on my note 3.

To use appradio unchained app, your android smartphone has to be rooted.

I had the 4000nex before upgrading to the avic-8000nex. I used the the Pac-tr7 to do the bypass but you can also used the micro bypass or toggle switch on the parking brake wire.Before i switch units i tried the avic bypass (installereric) and nothing happened. I will post a video of the 4000 and 8000 soon.

I recently got the avic-8000nex upgraded from the avh-4000nex. The bypass posted by installereric works. The nav section is nice for the most part but i to like to figure out how to make zoom adjustment stay. Here is a video of the unit along with using appradio unchained.

Just want to confirmed that the map update finally worked on my avic-8000nex on firmware 1.0.8 . I too was getting the initialize error message but after readng the post that it works i decide to try it again and it works.
