  1. This was an issue I had with just mp3 files on an x930. The first link above from smkmn13 says it all... the system reads back the files in the order they were copied onto the card. So I often ran into this after copying new files over.

For mp3s I ended up dumping all files to a computer, sorting, then copying back again to the card (and eventually ditched the sd card for an ipod...).

  2. I just ran into this problem with an x930bt.

For me, it had to do with some hidden files that OSX writes. Not sure if you're using a Mac, but if you are, see if you have files labeled "._TRACK NAME.mp3" on the card in your stereo (they're hidden in OSX so you wont see them in Finder).

The solution was to use a program called BlueHarvest which wipes all these hidden files. I think there are some scripts that you can run also if you'd rather go that route.

  3. Hi all,

I've been looking at picking up an older x unit (910bt or 930bt), but someone got it in my head that these units do not shuffle the entire card. Is this true?

I wouldn't have more than a couple hundred tracks, and the folder structure would not be complex. From the root, I'd separate files into Artist subfolders and that would be it.

Thanks for any thoughts on this...
