To download the firmware only you should be able to download it from the Pioneer website (I think)

 

1. Download WinCE 6

2. Install WinCE 6

3. Download Firmware 3.xx (Depends in which region/country you're in)

4. Install the latest firmware 3.xx & enjoy

5. No need to update the maps but you can do them quite easily & you'll be quite pleased with the end result

Where would I download WinCE6 and Firmware 3.xx?  Can not find a working link anywhere on here.  Mind sending it to me or something? I can add you to my dropbox or something.  Thanks in advanced.  This old f7010bt is driving me nuts on 2.xxx

I recently acquired an old F7010BT that is on 2.0006 or whatever PIO released.  Well plainly put, it sucks.

Ideally would like to try getting it to 4.0 if possible, but can't seem to find any of the files I need to update it. I can see plenty of theme's etc to download, but no luck finding the firmware etc.

Any help would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED

Nevermind.. No it isnt worth it.. So if anyone needs one of these for parts, I can extend you the deal I won it for if you want it. Otherwise I am canceling the purchase.

OK, 

So stupid me just won an auction on an x940BT here for what will be $120 after shipping.  I pretty much just hit bid on impulse as I figured it would be a cheap fix. Well if it is just the touch panel, yes it is cheap ($42 from Pioneer) and not so easy, but not too bad of a fix.  Upon looking closer I am afraid the LCD is broken as well.  It appears to be a pretty bad smash, and an LCD is $250 from Pioneer.
