  1. I know it is the Vehicle Speed Sensor, but I am wonder what all does it do? Is is just to provide a speed reading for the dynamic guages in the nav system? Does it have anything to do with preventing you from watching a DVD in motion like the bypass allows?
  2. Here are a couple that I found on here. Tell me about your Duramax. I have an LBZ.
  3. I burnt 18 photos to a CDRW last night. They were all backgrounds that I got from this site. I forgot to put them in a folder called PICTURES the first time I tried and it didn't work. On my second try it worked perfectly. Don't give up. I have had my D3 in for all of 3 days. I still have some things to fix, but it will be worth it when I get the bugs worked out.
  4. Thanks Hifi, I will check that. Cntrylvr79 suggested that maybe the volume was set to low on the GMOS and that sounded like it made sense, but then I got thinking that if I can hear the door chimes, shouldn't I be able to hear Onstar? I can hear my door chimes.
  5. Let me clarify. It seems that at volume level 1 on RADIO is much lower than volume level 1 on IPOD. Does that make sense. Maybe it just seems like it. It is still new to me.
  6. 1. When I hit the Onstar button the stereo mutes, the Onstar light blinks like it is connected, but I never hear anything. If I hit the button to turn it off, the stereo never comes back. It is like it has shut off completely. I do have the GMOS-01 box. 2. Occasionally the stereo turns up the volume on it's own. I have the PAC SWI steering wheel interface, but I have not programmed it yet. I am not really sure if that is related or not. Those are the two big problems I have. Now a just a "is this normal" question. When I am playing the IPOD and try to turn the volume do
  7. Thanks guys. So do you think that it s the resistor that is causing the different output on my meter when I try to check the connection. Hopefully I will get this thing finished today.
  8. I am in the process of installng my D3 in a 2007 Silverado Classic. This plastic piece is on the reverse sensor wire. What is it? I took the time to ohm every connection I made with my volt meter. I just set the meter to give me a tone if I had continuity. When I ohmed this wire I did not get a tone. The numbers on the meter changed, but no tone. I took the connector apart and I can see that the connection is good, but I am not getting a tone. I have seen pieces like this that were to prevent feedback. I was wondering if these was affecting the ohms. Thanks
  9. I am in Iraq and have a new 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic waiting on me when I get home. On my truck the passengers in the back can listen to something different on headphones than what the people up front are listening to. Does the AVIC D3 also do that? And along those same lines, I have read how to do the bypass so that the DVD and camera can work while in Drive. I know that I can hook up an additional monitor to the head unit, but will I be able to have the kids watching a DVD in the back seat and I listen to the stereo up front? I don't think from what I have read that it will do eithe
