  1. Interesting! What else did they reveal during your long phone call? Please share with us: will they adapt the IOS7 in car solution into Appradio? I mean they might have no other chance. Sooner or later all the few supported apps (except their own one) will drop direct Appradio support. Either Pioneer will take part and join the IOS7 in car concept, or they have kind of "legalize" or copy Appradio Extensions.

And last but not least, this time they WILL have to include existing AR2 and AR3 owners in the new path with firmware updates, since this will not just be a "buy a new radio again, if you want to benefit from the new functions" thing. No, this time it will be a "you just bought a new product whose core functions are getting dropped one by one, starting the day after your purchase, sure we will not drop you since we know that otherwise in the end our customer-base would drop us!" thing. Well..

Oh.. by the way: INRIX issued a new update again and brought back landscape mode in 5.0.1. No word mentioned about Appradio.

  2. VBLUE42 is right. I would have to recover my own old .IPA file. But as I backup via iCloud I don't see much of a chance here..

Anyway INRIX either will have to bring back Appradio support soon, or issue a statement that they intentionally dropped it.

I wouldn't see a bright future for Pioneers Appradio concept, if with INRIX another of their few key selling arguments left them.

  3. Hi, I had exactly the same issue today:
Bought and installed a new SPH-DA100 AppRadio2 which didn't support the
AppRadio mode to my iPhone 5. Just mirroring the screen via HDMI Output
without any touchscreen functionality and normal Bluetooth functions like phone
calls worked fine. Tried to update the Firmware and as the system came up
with the same error message as yours did, I deleted the smaller of the two
update files from the USB stick and then the update succeeded. Big
mistake! After the "successful update", the iPhone5 support was even
worse than before, since mirroring now was not only without
Touchscreen functionality, it now was even without Sound. After hours of
down- und upgrading the Firmware in the Appradio2 , trying with other iPhones
running different iOS6 Versions, I tried to perform the Firmware
update twice. One time with the first of the two files, and right after again
with the second file. Guess what - now everything works as
advertised! Blame on Pioneer that this two-step process of upgrading the firmware
nowhere is mentioned, especially as the Radio itself completely refuses to
accept a USB stick holding both files as they came out of the zipped upgrade
file from their servers. Hope it helped you out - regards.
