Long story short- I tried to install my avic d3 into my audi a4 and i've been getting the same msg regarding the dvd mechanism (mechanism error). There was a clicking noise coming from the cd/dvd mechanism and there was trouble ejecting and accepting the cd's.
I searched for solutions and read to reset the unit (hopefully realigning the cd unit), use rubbing alochol and cotton swab the sliders and so far nothing has worked.
I was wondering if anyone knew how to resolve this problem, or can point me to where i would be able to find a replacement mechanism/drive for the d3.
