The screen on the Ipod doesn't change at all. It's almost like it's not plugged into anything.

I'm new here and wanted to say that this is simply one awesome site. Anyway, I just had the AVIC-D3 installed in my '07 4Runner with the Sirius and Ipod cable. My whole basis of buying this unit was so that I could keep the Ipod in my glove box and have access to all my music whenever I wanted. Well I plugged in the Ipod (30GB video newest generation) to the cable and the AVIC screen comes up with the Ipod interface BUT there isn't any music available on the screen. It's like I'm plugging in an empty Ipod. I talked to the installer and he told me to try and update the Ipod with lates
