Got the S6 and it connects but no song title or song control on the head unit. Anyone have a resolve?

Hiyya! Newbie here, been trying to search other posts concerning the issue but to no avail. The connection from my S6 bluetooth works with the X930BT however I cannot use the arrows on screen or on the unit to change songs or even see what the song is playing, I have to use my phone to change or view and I would rather not while driving. I used my old galaxy S3 and it works flawlessly so I assume some weird update on the phone are different. Anyone resolved this issue someway by upgrading or anything? would it help if I upgraded to 940? Thanks!
