Where did you purchase your harness?
I looking for one but I would like to have the Z110 above the climate controls gauges, the reverse to your current setup.
Also did you lose the time for service indications on the dash when you removed the OEM radio?
Ebay.
There's a reason why I mounted the radio on the bottom: I didn't want to cut up my dash & climate controls.
No. OBC works without the stock radio. But I did relocate the radio to the trunk to retain chimes and PDC.

I have a 13 speaker set up and replacing those and amps would cost probably 4k plus
You could get a set of components for the front and coaxials for the rear and 1 or 2 subs and power them all by a 5 channel amp. you could do this for a little over 1k

Automakers are making it increasingly hard for people to add aftermarket radios. But can't you just replace the speakers/amp to solve the problem?

Didnt mean to highjack your thread here.... Great pics of the BMW install BTW
Np. Thanks.
The XM interface is pretty good. My only complaint is that if you want to see a list of channels, and what's playing on them, it's a bit slow to load and scroll.

Awesome install. Did you end up losing the car computer functions?
No the OBC is controlled by the stalk.

I installed it myself. There's nothing to bypass. I just had to relocate the stock radio to the trunk to retain chimes and PDC.
