  1. Well i'm not sure of the place you are talking about but I do know a guy named Steve and he call his business Turbo Tunes. He is a great guy & he is in Michigan. He has repaired multiple units of mine & has the best customer svc ever. He knows these units inside & out, I actually have an appointment with him on Monday for the same problem your having. His # is (419)341-3712. When you contact him let him know that "Isley" refered you. hope this helps!

Thanks for the info and I'll let him know of the reference.

  2. I installed the Avic D3 awhile ago and just got the xm/nav. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado that came from the GM factory XM ready with the XM Antenna mounted to the roof. I want to use this antenna with my Avic D3 and XM but I cant figure out how. So for the time being I just used the antenna that came with PIONEER GEX-P10XMT. Is there a way to use my factory mounted antenna. I called XM and they said yes but i cant figure it out. I hope someone is able to help me out

    Current Setup:

    Pioneer Avic-D3

    Pioneer GEX-P10XMT

Here's a picture to show the antenna I am talking about:

Can I swap my old OnStar antenna with the one that's in the picture? Would there be a problem since the antenna is mounted on the other side?

  3. I thought it would be a great idea to post up anything y'all have noticed about the upgrades. The good and the bad.

So far I have found a lot of new roads and updated streets in my city. Some street that had no names before now have names on em. The layout is much more improved for me and I notice now wherever I am in my city, it will let you know what Borough I am in which is sweet. I also find that when doin a destination search and some surrounding areas have the same street, the layout to select what city u want is MUCH more straight forward. Instead of it saying "dufferin Street/Oakville" it will just have the cities all laid out and all u gotta do is select whatever surrounding city u want. Will be doin more testing on this... Oh yeah, now on the XM radio, u can actually get more of the artist and song names displayed out. hope next year Pioneer plans to release a newer version to the older model navi's. Let's get a new interface Pioneer :)

Which model head unit do you have and what version did you upgrade from? I have a D3 and upgraded from CNDV-80MT, I did not notice any of the improvements that you did.

I have the n1 hu w/n3 brain. I upgraded from the 80mt to the 90mt and the only thing I've noticed is the XM radio display update. Since I play my mp3 more than XM or the regular radio, that's not worth the update price. Like others, 3 yr old streets are still mssing.

  4. Has anyone tried to get NavWeather added on yet?

I have the Pioneer xm/NavTraffic tuner but I'm still on trial and can't upgrade until after. I went on xm radio website and after logging on it said I could add it to my system.

    Just wondering.....

  5. My GM SUV did not come w/ XM radio, however I swapped out the Onstar combo antenna for an Onstar/XM antenna, used an extension cable and a smb female to female adapter to wire to the Pio XM tuner. Works great.

If you dont have the OEM wiring, I can get you the links for what I ordered.

Can You explain or show how you did this?

I am plaining on adding the PIONEER GEX-P10XMT to my system and wanted this mod.
