Yes. I have a separate amp. I don't plan on upgrading to new speakers beyond factory, unless they break though. I'll give PAC a call later today. Thanks.

You will need to purchase a wiring harness or interface depending on your what your vehicle is equipped with from factory. If you do not have an amp from factory then your head unit will power your speakers.
I installed a AVIC-8100 in my 2015 Sonata. I've had some issues with the Axxess interface kit. Enough issues that it is unusable. I started a thread here. I highly recommend not buying an Axxess product. I purchased a PAC RP4.2-HY11 interface. I will lose Blue Link but not a big deal since I do not use it. Although they will have a Blue Link interface available soon. You will have to select your make, year and model and choose a PAC kit that fits your vehicle and installation needs.
I have the amplified 6.1 speakers I think that came factory with the UVO (no nav) system (2013 Sportage SX). I've heard of all sorts of issues with the Axxess interfaces. Unfortunately, I don't see the PAC equivalent. I was going to go with the PAC SWI-CP5 and then the AudioControl LC6i to hopefully fix the amp issues. Thoughts?

Has anyone installed a NEX in a 2011+ Kia or Hyundai? Did you have to get an amp adapter or line output control box to use the OEM speakers? Any other special devices? Thanks.

Mine did. I just had to turn it off and on a few times (turn the car on and off).

I had this issue with my 8000 on thurs afternoon. It seems like a bunch of people had this issue with various units all at around the same time. Glitch with the satellite network?

Love my NEX-8000, but the place that installed my radio had trouble getting the rearview camera to work. The thing triggers, but nothing but black displays. They tried other cameras. Any troubleshooting ideas while they wait to hear back from Pioneer?

Ah. Ok. Didn't know that it was something you can turn on and off like that. Just saw the AVICSYNC options in the config menus. That makes sense now. Thanks!

There's a SPDIF amplifier interface that's used to convert the signal. That may also be the problem, but it's weird that I only have issues sometimes.

I'm having a weird issue with my speakers, I'm thinking it might be a loose wire or something, but I'm not sure. I have the X950BH installed in a 2013 Kia Sportage. For some reason, when the car's cold (mornings) the radio turns on, but there's nothing coming from the speakers. I need to turn the car off and on a few times before the speakers kick in. If the car's been out in the sun for a bit, the speakers seem to kick right on. Any ideas other than loose wires? Anyone have that problem?
