  1. I already have the avic.. its needed for my gps and other features...

i need the carpc to moniter my ecu...

I have a small compact... hardly enough room for both units...

as it is ive already removed my center vents to put the avic there. my din slot is full.

If you can see a cheap GPS touch screen unit with usb support let me know as i cant see those...

and no i dont want to do windows gps(as it is a logical option in most plases).. it doesnt tap into the ecu for acurate MPH readings under bridges/trees

half the time I drive I get no sat signal.. I live in in mountains and valleys really high on the hemisphere.. the sending satelite is low on the harizon.. even driving beside a 5th wheel truck knocks out my satelite reception(assuming it is driving on the south side of me) the avic vss solves all this.

  2. when i started my car this morning my avic n2 didnt work so i unplugged it and plugged it back up again, and it started working. Then i shut my car off to get a haricut and it was working fine. THen i took a shower and i started my car and now it doesnt work. It flips out like it resetted only nothing shows on the screen and none of the buttons work not even the open/close button. The only button that works is the Eject button to eject cds. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE HELP!!!

    ribbon cable.

    pioneer recall.

if you're not covered it will cost you 200$? i think someone correct.

there is also a guy on ebay who will do it for cheaper.

  3. putting a avic into a delsol middle vent slot.

had to remove the dash. remove the side vents, remove the middle vents. tap side vents into the window defrost vent. seal holes.

then the 3 gaping holes on the heater vent system had to be chopped down from a 45 degree angle to then be flush. then seal the hole.

just to make room for the deck to fit in the damn vent slot... not even counting the fabrication of a din mount for the vent.

  4. oh of course.. that would be it...

yeah i have mine set default to rom... just figured most people had that down.

gosh I should sell them on ebay for 5$ shipped, just to screw over everyone on ebay lol (non-profit organization)

I dont think its right for people to profit on ebay cuz they burn a disc. it should be like trying to sell xbox games burnt...

  5. just thought id say this west disc works great, downloaded burnt and works... dont understand why people are having problems

if you prefer other burning software, just use deamontools to mount the image then burn from "dvd" to dvd using any program.

only help i can think of for anyone out there :?

  6. ok lil update, nothing really though.

my buddy said hes having problem with his usb touch screen mod.

basicly he could only find a 7" windows touch screen driver so its off a bit on acuracy. (6.5" avic)

and because of this he doesn't want to release a shotty half assed not really working mod.

I'll let you guys know if theres any more updates.

Clearly no one knows how to do this here, and thats unfortunate...

maybe my buddy is being a douche and leading me on like a blonde at the clubs on saturday night...

but regardless... ill keep hammering him till i get a confirmation of some sort.

he said its just 4 wires from a usb cable.

  7. i was not aware you cant buy regulating 12v DC computer 12V power supplys...

It blows me away that ignorance rules supreme in this forum no one wants to do things and think for themselves.

Just because you dont know how to do it doesnt mean it cant be done.

My xbox runs in my car without an AC inverter using simple logic that in two dc loops ac has no reason to exist.

    But ok

    ignorance will win as usual.

  8. it started as a simple question.

instead this post has turned into a flame.

if my friend was available id ask him. unfortunatley hes busy and the only quick ancwers i had out of him are that he bridged into spots on the brain. i confirmed that he didnt touch the head unit.

thats as far as i got. I assumed since he figured it out in a weekend that someone would have had it down to a T on here...

instead I get bull about things that can be done and cant be done and guess work that's out to lunch...

But ok, try to "label" me with the rest of you if you will. Profanity gets you where? Thanks

  9. running resistors to the 5v line and other lines with lesser voltage will solve those issues....

that is what im talking about, it isnt as simple as that, that is reckless and such suggestions will cause problems and even damage to someones system. If it was that simple why wouldnt the original power brick be just a resistor? instead of a heavy damn near the size of a console in of it self. Cuz its not that simple, lets let this thing go at this because someone is going to read the rubbish here and may even try it. We dont want to have to trouble shoot some problem this causes.

because they are converting from ac to dc in that brick....

if you leave it dc you dont need the brick.

simple as that... anyone who wants to install this system should use logic and accept that it will take more than a highschool education...

if you want a bandaid solution you convert all over the place with inverters out the ying yang... but if you want to do things properly (and logicly) you dont bother with the ac conversion in the unit itself.

to leave the brick is like pulling teeth to solve plaque...

just go into the unit and attack it at the problem...

  10. the 12v was just to dumb things down....

and it is all the same...

the solution of having the ignition off only is to drain one battery to the other. then when the ignition is on the 360 drains your 2ndary battery without being linked with engine noise and flux in voltage.

it wont work for long road trips but its a perfect solution for around town.

running resistors to the 5v line and other lines with lesser voltage will solve those issues....

its all quite simple... but ok flame me and do things ass backwards....

just need a cap and proper wiring. keep ac out of the loop

  11. I never said he tapped into the ribbon cable... the ribbon is on the head unit.. i said the brain unit. :?

Im curious about this film option though. could you show me a link to it?

I didnt call bullshit on the film... i called it on the tap into the vss and reverse wire. makes no sense at all

I'd love to see all possible options.

If pioneer released the unit with this feature they would outsell clarion and alpine nav units no problem.. seems stupid to not have it.

even 300$ ebay no name junk have it. har har

  12. Extra connectors? I call bullshit on this one

yeah i call bullshit on that too.. if they had it already easily wired it would have been an additional feature of the unit....

not to mention you need advanced touchscreen drivers....

and on the touch film? where do you buy a usb 6.5" touchscreen film?

the "ease" of that is lost on me :?

my friend tapped into the existing unit... modifying the brain only as he said in the unit would involve a lot more work.. so i know he didnt add a usb touch film of any sort

  13. i guess if he hooked up the remote wire or antenna wire it could "control" the windows. as far as taping onto the touch screen i dont think thats very possible.

im not talknig about tapping into external wires... im talking about taking apart the unit and taping into the trace lines on the circuit for the screen itself....

  14. xbox360 is waaaay different then the xbox1, hence the power brick itself.

they are totally the same... follow the same principles...

the way they are built is different.. but they both are built using the same process...

the brick itself will just make it easier if anything because the power supply itself is external instead of internal...

  15. the best way to do this install is get the wiring diagram of an xbox 360 and figure out what wires are true 12v...

the big box (power adapter) is really a power supply... it converts house style electricity to 12v standard

so in theroy... your car starts as 12v.. gets converted to house in the inverter... then back to 12v... see the redundancy?

ive seen this done successfully with xbox's (xbox's have the same issue)

the difference is you can get a 12v car power supply and plug it into an xbox main board...

if you're looking for a plug and play solution... then you need to get some sort of 2nd battery that you can disconnect from the main battery to remove engine noise.... then while the ignitions off have both batterys auto bridge to drain some power from the main battery to the xbox battery...

but thats a pain in the arse to set up

  16. my friend told me he got his N3 to work as touch screen for windows by tapping into the brain controls for the touch screen. In theroy it seems possible yet i have no clue how he did it..

has anyone done this with the avic N3 before?

I asked him for proof but hes a busy man so i dont know if hes pulling my leg. He is smart though....

  17. I was researching on here to do the upgrade and it looks like a simple 77 IC leg soldar job.

I was curious if anyone has a picture of the chip in question reletive to its location on the motherboard. I dont want to open the N2 just to research before I order the chip.

and on that note. If i can successfully do it (witch i feel i can no problem)

I cant find a supplier of this chip (pioneer says not in stock or your login rights dont give u the ability to order this product)

and two. if i can do it. id be happy to charge a cheap price to do it.

looks like the chip retails for 50$. i could probobly do it for 150$

I'm located in canada, so this would be a good solution for all you canadian people.

anyway... any help would be great.

  18. Ok, just spent 2 hours with my car guy. Found out that my Xterra S model does not have a speed sensor wire. My car has no cruise control or radio volume adjustment when I increase or decrease the speed. Does anyone have a solution? We went through the car forever looking, and everywhere it should be, it isnt. Is there an aftermarket peice to get a speed pulse for the N3? HELP!! please!

your car has to have a VSS. inless in 2005 they stopped making spedometers..... get the ECU wiring diagram... it will be on there.

  19. i would like to know if it is nessesary to put these 2 wires with the n3 brain if so where is the location of both wires in my honda civic si 95 pls

reverse wire is only needed for backup cam

vss is needed for GPS features. it will work without it but with it your GPS will know what to do inside tunnels (out of sight of sat)
