  1. You are going to the wrong place. Only two things on a car make noise when hooked up:

    A) ignition noise, to take care of that go to radio shack or best buy and they will sale you what you need. Which you do not in this case.

    B) bad ground. If all was well before the install, all they did to install the cd is run a (-) and a (+) switched, along with the ip cable. Now the IP cable...not going to make static noise. The (+) would blow a fuse when not installed properly. The (-) will give you static when not ground properly. Take a wire, put it on the (-) of your battery. Then run it temp to where they connected the ground for the cd changer. I would almost bet you that it will go away. If that is your case, I would find a better ground wire. I think in the install they messed up the ground wire or disconnected it from the source when installed.

I will check this over the weekend, but it still bothers me why Radio still has Static Sound when I completly unhooked Ground for Cd Changer? Anyway I will let you know how it went.

  2. Actually ... i went back to the place that installed my N4 and they checked the ground and everything was o.k. To be sure I also Unhooked CD CHANGER and radio is actually doing same thing Static Sound. It didn't do nothing like that before I hooked up Cd Changer ... but now even when I disconnect Cd Changer it has a Static Sound problem. Any other ideas? The only time it doesn't happen if I change Volume with a Radio Button ... all other functions doesn't matter what I do have problem. Even when I have NAV on and it gives me next turn (when it talks) while Muting Radio or Cd it gives me Static Sound while Avic-n4 is saying directions.

  3. For all you unfortunate people posting about your being ripped off, did you remove the face plate (if its available on your model)? I am curious how much removing the faceplate will deter a thief, cause I am pretty good about taking the face off of my N2. If it was stolen without the face, how difficult would it be for said thief to get a replacement?

Im not violent or anything, but man, how sweet would it be to catch the thief in your car as he is stealing and rummaging through it! That would be some vigilante stress relief.

It all depends on the Thief. They stole my N2 without main brain ... so as long it's a easy steal they will take it.

  4. It won't stop them. This just happend to me. I had strong tint on my Windows ... when they broke the Glass it shattered but it was still held up by the tint inside Window Frame ... they just pushed everything inside and it did even more damaged because when they pushed whole shattered window inside it folded in half on the tint and hit dashboard scraching it and puting dings in it.

  5. I had my N4 installed month ago. Everything was perfect until yesterday when they connected Pioneer CD Changer to it which was already installed before but wasn't connected. Now everytime I press any button on Screen or Remote to change Volume, Radio station, Source etc. I get STATIC BUZZING NOISE FROM THE SPEAKERS while Avic executes the change. What is wrong?

  7. on the 70 disks it says that it does not upgrade the xm or ipod controls, is are they infering that the 70's do have the same "upgrade" as the 60's?? I just want to do this right the first time since you can't go backwards in firmware easily from what i have reading on here.

Like the other member told you to get N3 Ipod interface on N2 and N1 you have to replace the part inside the Unit not only software ... there is guy on Ebay that will do that for I think around $150 his real deal.

  8. on my N1 i wired the parking brake wire to a switch so when it was on it would plas as if it was grounded and when it was off it would play as it should with the e-brake. i did this in case i got pulled over. now with the N4 woud i just ground the bypass wire and run the switch off the ground wire. or run both to the switch

Pull over for what? If you watching movie while driving by yourself (which is not too smart to do) and cop pulls you over just hit Nav button and it will switch to NAv screen ... cops can't stop you for having your Nav on.

  9. I still can not burn my it tells me I need more space. I am using Verbatim DL DVD ... I tried ti burn it using Alcochol 120%

    ONCE AGAIN:

CAN SOMEONE POST WHAT TO DO AFTER DOWNLOADING AND UNZIPING TORRENT

Make sure that when you insert the DVD, Alcohol shows the free space available on the blank DVD as larger than 4.2GB (like 8.3GB). If not, then you may be using a DL DVD, but you either don't have a DL capable DVD burner, or a driver problem. I'm thinking your burner isn't dual layer capable.

It is DUAL LAYER CAPABLE ... My burner is Plextor PX750A ... I've been burning dual Layer DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL on in before 100 times
