reichthadon
i bought the CD-IB100II just a few days ago and i thought i could handle the install myself. to make a long story short, i dont think i can. i havent even tried(the weather here isnt great and i dont have a garage to work in...i hate my new apts...) but the real question is will my ipod work if i dont run the power wire for the CD-IB100II? my theory is that its only for recharging the ipod, but what do i know. i plan on getting it installed by my shop that ive been commited to for years but hes busy installing remote starters for christmas time...so im on my own for a couple weeks. i dont want to take my dash apart myslef to wire it up yet i know its an easy install, please help!!!! cntrylvr79
No the interface will not work without the power connected. If you're pulling the radio out to plug the ipbus cable in, it's not that much more work to hook the power up behind the radio aswell.
installermarc
No, it will not work. All pioneer p-bus add ons (like the cd-ib100II) need the battery power and ground to function. Also, plug the blue end of the cable to the blue plug on the head unit, and the black plug into the black on the hide-a-way box.
